Blessing in Disguise

I know it’s a reach, but maybe Jakes bad game was a blessing in disguise. He was pulled out of the game and when McCown came in he went down with an injury. What if it was Jake that got hurt and was out for the season. I would rather him have a few bad games than be out for the season and the team have another 07 year. He had bad games like this last year ie. Oakland game but we were a better team with him than without him. Again this is just a thought on how lucky we really may have gotten. Luckier than Philly got with the injury to McNabb.

Thoughts?

I think thats bull poo.....4 int's and 1 fumble for a t.d. is not a blessing in disguise. A blessing in disguise would be a new head coach who is not a pussy, who can make adjustments, and a new quarterback, preferrably one that is not a washed up, one time super bowl losing quarterback, who can run and make good decisions.

i had to explain the same thing to my 4-year old at the game today. he too, with his little worn delhomme jersey. his eyes watered up and he asked me why jake was getting booed so bad, he kept telling me to tell the people to stop booing. hard to explain to a little one. it really almost hit me hard at one point. man, the innocence of a little child. if you dont have little children, you dont understand.

This coming from the guy that just wrote this in another post, and to think I felt for you and your son, then the brash comment you made in this one. WOW.... what a turn around. I'm just trying to find the good in a bad day. Thats why I said MAYBE its a blessing in disguise.

dont try to make a good point here. most people here have tunnel vision, and blame everything on one player. the team sucked as a whole sunday. we need to brush ourselves off and get ready for Atlanta.

The fact that our mighty O-Line sucked badly, it's not an explanation for Jake's poor plays. The O-Line doesn't fumble the ball. The O-Line doesn't read coverage.

I still do not understand why fans attack one single player and basically destroy all self confidence they have.

What's the point? What does it achieve?

It's born of frustrations, but achieves a spiral of decline in a player, especially one needing some support after the playoff game. Why would fans of this team, turn so hard on a player, when they know full well there is no depth behind him? Turn on the coach, the GM or the owner. It was their choice to go in this direction, Delhomme has and will try everything in his power to help this team win. He is just a normal guy, just like the rest of us (yes well done he gets paid a lot). If anyone wants this team to succeed this season, needs to actually support him because let's face it everyone knows we will not be getting anyone else in.

If any fan here, wants us to do moderately well. We need to support Jake as well as we can, because we need to give him a mental lift, to snap him out of this.

As a disclaimer, I am not a Delhomme supporter. I feel the FO should have gone at long lengths to find a replcament and certainly should NOT have extended him in the fashion they did. I understand why they did, but did not agree with it.

Dude, 07 will be like a wet dream if we keep running Delhomme out there. I'm thinking more along the lines of '98 or '01 with the current crop of QBs on this roster. You have to be completely blind, stupid or both to think that we are "lucky" that our QB has 9 turnovers in the last 2 games. The only way we might be lucky is if the Delhomme/Fox era is finally forced to a painful end by Richardson.

Look, don't be a douche, read carefully.....i said i felt soo bad for my son because he looks up to jake....i don't trash the man in front of him, nor is my 4 year old reading the these forums. don't feel bad for me, feel bad for the little ones that do not know any better. look, i have not always hated jake, but like alot of the others around here, he's worn off, it's not 2003 any more, quite simply, his time has run out, he has lost the edge.

you can only apologize so many times for a bad performance, before fans will start turning a deaf ear to you. i dont pay good money hear apologies, i need wins.

I understand exactly how you feel Panther Dad. I have a shirt that reads Carolina Panthers Dad, by the way. You need one.

When something isn't working, you don't support it to make it feel better about itself. You make a change. This regime has had plenty of time and opportunity to put together a championship caliber team. There is considerable talent on this team, but it is be squandered by poor coaching, weak play calling and a QB who simply can't play at this level consistently. It's not just one game or one season, this is how it's been ever since Fox came in...inconsistent, mediocre and weak. If we support them so they feel better, this is what we will continue to get. This has gone on long enough, and it's time to make a change. Support won't make that happen. That's why they have revolutions. As fans, that is our responsibility to make the FO realize what needs to be done.
