Props to Oher

Hardy is so overrated on this forum. He's a solid player, and can be very disruptive at times, but he is not a great player and he never was here.

I'm not a Hardy fan after what happened last season, but I'm not sure how you can deny that he was a force when he played for us.

He had 15 sacks for us in 2013 and consistently generated pressure on the QB. I'm not sure how you can call that just 'solid.' The most Peppers ever had was 14.5, and he's a Hall of Fame candidate.

There should have been a lot of Crow on the thanksgiving menu for about half this forum.  Many thought Oher was a washed-up unreliable football player that was only going to make us marginally better than last year with Bell.

Oher has been solid.  Solid enough that making LT a first round priority in the 2016 draft unnecessary.  DG will have time to find a talented Tackle who can be groomed into replacing Oher.

Oher has been excellent this year. He held up very well yesterday and shut Hardy down. He deserves a lot of credit for that and let's face it, he's been one of the keys to our success.

Yes, he gives up a sack every now and then. All LTs do, even the best ones. It is one of the hardest non-skill positions in the game and you are always up against the best defensive lineman on the other team. Big Mike has shown how great of a pickup Gettleman made and how sometimes a third chance really, really pays off.

We're beginning to specialize a bit in rehabilitating players other teams are giving up on or not finding a role for:  Oher, Ginn, Cotchery, Tillman, Coleman, Allen...

Of course there are some that haven't worked out (Jonathan Martin, anyone?) but generally, I've not seen us get hurt by our willingness to give some of these vets a chance, and when it works, it has sometimes paid off in spades at low cost to us.

Coach Matsko definitely needs an award.  I mean when most of our line are leading the pro-bowl voting...!!!  I know that doesn't mean much, but when you think about how much of a joke our line was for much of last season, and the incredible number of analysts etc. who slammed G'man etc for a TERRIBLE offseason because we didn't address our tackle problem.

Ron's not the only one who gambles.  This was a pretty big risk taken by our management after last year's "the answer is on the roster" didn't prove true... at least not in terms of Bell at LT.  It's great to see this year they were right in knowing what they had, and trusting Matsko to shape this line into something really solid.

The left tackle position has made a bigger turnaround than any on the team this season.  Kudos to Oher and Gman for signing him

The other huge turnaround:  Our DBs.  Wow.  We're averaging 3.3 takeaways per game  in our last 3 games.  This time last year we were averaging 1.5 I believe.

Wow, what ever will Gettleman do without everyone (myself included) trying to shove a LT down his throat in the draft?!? Just as well, all the good ones will be gone by the time we get around to drafting 32nd.

Always good to be playing with a big lead.  Makes the pass more apparent and the rush that much better.  When the rush is better, QB's have to rush throws.  All works in our favor
