You Stay Classy Philly

Wow, Really? We got our asses handed to us because of bad QB play, bad playcalling, no adjustments. And you want to blame Reid and the Eagles? As was stated already, I wish Fox had the guts to whip somebody's ass like that!

In all fairness Jangler, I mentioned all those reasons that we contributed to our own demise. But, as I said, after a day now, I feel a lot more clarity. I just can't stand for us to not even look one bit competitive, like we did yesterday.

Let me take a step back from that a little, our defense actually did look competitive several times. But, they only had so much gas in the tank with as many times as the offense turned it over.

I tip my hat to Reid. He was aggressive, but it just leaves a very SOUR taste in my mouth.

Anyone else feel Andy Reid acted and coached with total disregard for sportsmanship and class today? I'm all for a team putting your foot on someone's throat when you're up and crushing them, but he went way overboard. I felt like he had a personal dislike for us. I don't know if it's that he's still bitter about '03 or what. But I was pissed.

WTF was up with going for 2 different 4th downs in the 4th quarter when they were already up 28 points? WTF was up with bringing back in the first unit on their defense to stop us from scoring a sympathy TD? That was a total lack of class, and I don't ever remember seeing a team do sh*t like that other than Belichick and the Pats (which usually happens at least once a year). I usually pull for McNabb too as long as it's not detrimental to us, but I honestly feel he deserved the broken rib. That sh*t was ridiculous.

After the way they acted, I don't know how Fox even shook his hand. But, then again, I don't know why Fox has done a lot of things that he's done. Anyone else noticed this?

Who cares. They wanted to end the game quickly so they went for it on 4th down and they stopped us from scoring. What does class have to do with it???

I would've tried to win by one hundred points if it were me. You play to win and there is no mercy. My team will grind you into the earth. I'll pass deep every play with a 40 point lead if you are gonna give it up.

It's not a matter of class it is a matter of winning and having a winner's mindset.

Disrespect all the way around. They went for it on 4th downs, they threw the ball on almost every down in the 4th quarter in an attempt to score more points. And the fans...they were so awful. Eagles fans must be the worst. I saw about 10 fights in my section alone. They were not good sports, and even started fighting with a guy wearing a Steelers jersey and another wearing a Cowboys jersey. Ridiculous! Eagles fans forced me to cheer when McNabb went down, which I am not proud of.

Are fights like that common at games? I've yet to go to one in person so I'm quite curious about that.

Well, if the Panthers wanted respect they should have stopped the Eagles from scoring...

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
