The masses are easily entertained by childish entertainment. Tony Stark making quips, Captain America punching, and Spiderman swinging on webs is all it takes to sedate the infantile.

This is the equivalent of a Growl post about anything Dave Gettleman does.

Honestly, I thought it was pretty good, but in the end, I walked away thinking it just missed out on being great. Couldn't tell you what it missed on, just didn't have that little bit of zing. Still, compared to the angst fest that was BvS, it was a much more fun movie to watch.

I do hope that they keep the Winter Soldier on ice for a while, I just can't seem to get behind the character -- the redemption story is taking way too long to unfold and dragging it through yet another movie will be tedious. Cap and Tony did carry the story and the characters are strong/interesting enough to do so, but the best parts of the movie were the supporting characters. Ant-man rocked and the Vision was great character building. Black Panther really got me looking forward to the solo movie and they developed the Falcon into a real Avengers-worthy character (loved the new take on Redwing).

Hawkeye was great but honestly, I think they overdo Black Widow a bit. Sure, she is easy on the eyes, but in the big match up battle, she would have been toast. They've changed Scarlet Witch's hex powers to telekinetics, but I think I can deal with it. Her character is developing but she really needs that Vision storyline to make it work. Kudos to them for starting that process. Rhody.. this was probably the direction that was going to have to go. They need an instructor on staff for the younger Avengers.

So, let's talk about the spider in the room. You know, I am excited about the new Spiderman series for the first time in a loooong time. And yeah, Aunt May became a hottie of the first order. Not to mention second Oscar-winning actress to take on the role. The new Spiderman has the exact right tone that the webslinger needs.

Four and a half stars out of five, just needed a little something else for that last  half star.

By extension it'd still be worth more than anything you've ever "contributed" I guess.

Totally loved Civil war. While enjoying some pints on Fri with a fellow movie fan i said i would love to sit in on Marvel productions meetings. All the moving parts they have going on and to fit them so nicely is super impressive.

Black Panther was awesome and now i cant wait to see more of him and then Dr. Strange is coming and on and on

One hope is they somehow get Moon Knight on the screen.  Semi obscure but that would be stellar.

There were rumors of Moon Knight coming to Netflix possibly.   It's too gritty for regular movies anyway, would work well as a TV series.

If contributing involved half assed notions and self entitled opinions used as fact that would be proven incorrect time and time again...  Then yeah, you'd be right.

By the way, that last statement, it was a description of your retorts. XD bahahahahah.

Punisher just got confirmed. It may be a while before we see any Moon Knight. I was thinking that it may actually be cool to bring Kingpin to the big screen as a Spidey villian with all of the setup that's occurred on DD.

I don't like Kingpin as a villain to Spider-Man in tv/movies.  I think Spidey would just wax them and you have that whole Superman thing going where, "who can really beat him?"  I think Spider-Man is best for big type villains.    I mean, Spider-Man is one of the most powerful in the MCU.  They even showed him just grabbing a WS punch in the movie to highlight that.

I think Marvel will keep the "ground level" heroes fighting guys like Kingpin and whatnot and that makes sense.

Also there was Ghost Rider rumors as well.  Eventually I could see all being on there.

I felt like the idea of Spidey taking down a hydra of corruption would fulfill that change that they are targeting after Sony did Goblin movies over and over again.

It was just an idea though. It looks like they're setting up the 'Born Again' arc on DD which needs Kingpin. Ill also point out that Captain America played an important role in that story.... Just saying.

You can, quite simply, overthink a Spider-man movie. His movies should be fun and be about the little guy being overmatched but still winning in the end. You don't need big conspiracies, or tie ins to his parents' past, or anything like that. Just a really smart kid, bitten by a radioactive spider, getting powers and trying to make the most of it while still trying to be a regular guy.

They can Todd McFarlane the hell out of it and ruin it, they can make it another SHIELD story. They can try to make it overly serious like a DC flick, They can play it for laughs. All of those ruin it. Don't make him a dick, don't bring in Venom (and the 1,000 Venom clones BS), don't put him up against a corporation.

Just play it like Stan Lee did. The story works because he's everyman when he doesn't have the mask on, and it really works because they never lose the idea that a good guy is still behind that mask. Make it a fun popcorn film with a hero you can cheer for, leave the gray areas and grandiose villains to the other movies.

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
