i also said last year that I knew Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis individually went to Jerry Richardson pleading to bring back hardy. There were others as well to the point where Rivera was lobbying for him. Even after everything that has come out, a good amount of people in that locker room do not believe Ms. Holder. There is one player specifically who is part of the leadership core on the team who flat out doesn't believe her at all. Thinks hardy is 100 percent innocent.

I don't pretend to read every post, especially every Greg Hardy post, but I do not recall this "information" or your insider information.

The Panthers franchised Hardy gambling they would get one more good year, albeit at a premium, when they were coming off a 12-4 season and thought bringing him back would push us over the hump of "just" getting a playoff game taste.

As soon as the Ray Rice situation brought the Hardy case back to the forefront all pretense of "innocent until proven guilty" went out the window and there was no way Hardy was going to be a Panther again. Regardless of contract.

As far as the pictures being conveniently released just a day or so after all records were officially expunged reeks of a hatchet job.  Guilty or innocent I honestly don't know.  But if Nicole Holder had those specific injuries and both she and legal counsel chose to accept a payoff rather than pursue a civil case when they were halfway to a criminal conviction, I am enough of a skeptic to not condemn Hardy to eternal damnation like many here.

Davis absolutely didn't say that.

I didn't say he said it, I said he made it clear that he believes that.  Do you think Thomas Davis, Mr. Man of the Year himself, would go on record to support him and say "it's his word versus hers" if he thought Hardy did it?   Hayull no.

And if he did think Hardy did it, he wouldn't have phrased it as "needs to make better decisions".  Actions like those Hardy was accused of are not decisions, they're reactions.  Choosing who to hang out with is a decision.

He's a human being that has a friend and former teammate that did something wrong. Harder to be detached and unforgiving of people you actually know in person, unlike all the Huddlers that have plenty of opinions about Hardy while never even having met the guy. Hardy's not a collection of words and pictures on a cellphone or tablet to TD.

I can understand how TD is stuck between a rock and a hard place on this, and I'm not going to condemn or condone him for that.

Great post.

TD basically said what I and a few others have been saying for the longest. Just gonna leave it at that, and i applaud him for speaking out. It doesnt not make him any less of human being for it either, and it doesnt mean he is necessarily taking a side on the situation either. I suppose some of you that get real offended toward this situation will want to go and fight TD huh?

Steve Reed even tweeted earlier today that Jason Garett reached out to talk to the Panthers before signing Hardy. So for everyone on hear that has bashed the cowboys for signing him its hilarious that your own team probably influenced it in the first place. Just putting it out there.

He pretty much did. A lot of that locker room feels that way. The only person that made a negative comment today about him was dwan Edwards and be prefaced it by saying he still cares about Greg. Tolbert, Harper, Davis, Addison, CJ, Norman spoke highly of him.

Hey i understood this a long time ago thats why i have been on the fence about what happened as well and not changed my stance. Pretty much everyone on hear has followed the media and refused to pay attention to the information coming out our own backyard.

All good points.  And for the record I was in no way condemning Davis or anyone else that is friends with Hardy.  I've made enough mistakes in my life to not really have any moral high ground to do something like that.

And if you really thought nobody would talk about Hardy given he was on our team last year and we're playing his new team this week you're an idiot.  If you don't want to talk about him, skip the fuging thread.

As a guy who has been in a situation having to try to restrain and get away from a crazy-mad-hatter of a serious freakazoid, drugged-out and uncontrollable female, where locking myself in a room still didn't stop her...I've had to call 911 to get a chick away from me.

you don't call 911 unless it's a last resort...especially if drugs may be involved and it's in your own house.

Greg just got caught up in a situation where 90% of the time, what a female says is considered gospel and the guy gets screwed.

Greg shouldn't have been in the situation with a chick doing mind altering substances and expecting a happy go-lucky outcome...that was his downfall...being around a nutso and coked-out female who apparently can't control herself.

Just a  bad situation all the way around and yes, crazy poo always comes to the surface when you add drugs to an already crazy group of crazy people.

Just say no kids...believe you me. Don't do drugs and don't surround yourself with people who use them because in the end, nothing good ever comes out of it.

im one ticked off fan, losing 2 of my favorite players (Smitty and the Kraken,) in consecutive years, mostly because they were loose canons and now I've lost another one in Frank Alexander.

Just say no.

Just to throw this out for consideration; take away for a moment the innocent versus guilty debate.  Our players are smart, and I'm sure they know better than to launch any incendiary comments or hate grenades in the media days before the game.  Regardless of what some of these guys really think, they aren't going to share that, not right now, not to the media.  And that's the right move.

This was my initial thought. It was probably discussed in meetings before the media availability.

"The Hardy questions are coming, don't say say anything negative about him, we don't need to give a reason to be even more motivated than he already will be."

Though I do think he was legitimately well liked by the entire locker room.
