Not sure what to think about this...re:Davis, Hardy

"We all knew of the situation," he said. "We knew what was said to have happened. It's one of those situations where you really still, to this point, it's still Greg's word against hers."

That's a quote from Thomas Davis.  I love Davis but come on man.  If you see those pictures you know she didn't do that to herself.  Plus Hardy paid her off so that kind of say's he did something don't you think?  I'm all for giving people second chances.  People make mistakes.  But first I believe you have to own up to it and show some remorse, which I don't think Hardy has publicly.

You know, without being in the situation or around a similar situation it would be difficult to have an opinion on the topic. That is what Davis is saying and ultimately, what Hardy said about needing to restrain her from hurting herself or someone else could explain the marks just as easily as her story could. What you choose to believe is on you. When I read court transcripts of her stating that marijuana flew out of her window right before she got into a car accident, her credibility was shot.

He's a human being that has a friend and former teammate that did something wrong. Harder to be detached and unforgiving of people you actually know in person, unlike all the Huddlers that have plenty of opinions about Hardy while never even having met the guy. Hardy's not a collection of words and pictures on a cellphone or tablet to TD.

I can understand how TD is stuck between a rock and a hard place on this, and I'm not going to condemn or condone him for that.

I will be flamed but Let me just say this- If Greg Hardy really wanted to beat her up- she would have come away with more than those bruises.. She was coked out and kirking out on him - I still remember her being quoted as saying "He hasn't even seem me go crazy yet".. the manner in which he called 911 was not of someone just brutally attacked a female.. the fact she ran from police when they arrived doesn't sound like someone that was just attacked by a person 3x their size.. after spending that entire afternoon following the all the tweets from that trial - I am in a group that thinks he didn't rough her up like everyone says he did

But i still think the punishment for the piss-poor decisions he's made and been making fits the bill.. I don't think TD, Rivera and Norman would truly be in his corner when they knew the facts back before we ever did..

flame away

Settling out of court instead of having a Civil Suit to deal with as well is not uncommon and has no bearing on his legal status.  He was going to have to pay her regardless.  Pretty sure he cannot have a legally binding agreement with her preventing her from testifying in exchange for a settlement.

She didn't show up for her restraining order and showed up three hours late for the bench trial.  That is a pattern.

So yes, Hardy gave her money AND she didn't show up to the trial.  It is impossible to ignore the plethora of reasons for this.

Was just coming to post this. Davis makes it clear that he, with more insight and knowledge about Hardy and firsthand account of the situation than any of us, the media, or the league, believe that Hardy didn't do it, but needs to make better decisions ( aka who he spends his time with.)

Well said. That was smooth.

I've said this forever and have been ridiculed on these boards. The locker room LOVES Greg hardy. Let me repeat myself. A majority of the team LOVES Greg hardy. They were extremely unhappy how the team handled him last year and I feel it was a major reason for why they struggled for a while.

i also said last year that I knew Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis individually went to Jerry Richardson pleading to bring back hardy. There were others as well to the point where Rivera was lobbying for him. Even after everything that has come out, a good amount of people in that locker room do not believe Ms. Holder. There is one player specifically who is part of the leadership core on the team who flat out doesn't believe her at all. Thinks hardy is 100 percent innocent.

Should we expect a Bob Costas monologue this Sunday night calling for a revoking of Thomas Davis' Man of The Year award because he clearly doesn't understand the severity of Greg Hardys actions as determined by Bob Costas and the rest of the media hyenas who don't know what the fug actually happened just like the rest of us?

Davis absolutely didn't say that.

He pretty much did. A lot of that locker room feels that way. The only person that made a negative comment today about him was dwan Edwards and be prefaced it by saying he still cares about Greg. Tolbert, Harper, Davis, Addison, CJ, Norman spoke highly of him.
