NFL refs and reffing inconsistencies

A great article about this on ESPN.com, it gives great insight into the tendencies of the officiating crews. Anyone know who our crew is this weekend and how the list in the link will affect our game?

As has been said before, we are expecting to face not only the Cowboys his weekend, but also the refs. So it would be interesting to see what are the norms for our crew and how they end up calling the game.  Could be a way for us to gauge how much the refs are affecting the game, and if they are calling it different then they normally do.

This is not just an NFL thing.  I remember a former ACC coach talking about knowing the tendencies of certain officials, and game planning accordingly.  I do wonder if scouting teams report on referee crew tendencies.  If not, then perhaps they should, if such a thing is allowed.

I don't really blame the refs for seeming inconsistent though.  The NFL almost seems to go out of its way to make certain rules as difficult as possible to enforce.

I know that the Seahawks do it. They have scouting reports on every single referee and their crews and what their tendencies are and they discuss them prior to every game. So a DB knows ahead of time that he needs to be extra careful about holding or a WR can get away with pushing off, etc. I don't know about any other teams and I'm sure pretty much all of them do it to an extent but Seattle is probably the most advanced in their referee game planning.
