That's another thing. I'd like the idea of bringing him in even more if it was the off-season. We're in the middle of this group's first real championship run. Is the risk of him not adjusting to our scheme fast enough, if at all, less than the chance he puts the defense at the 2000 Ravens or 1985 Bears level? Does the new guy cost us a critical mental mistake in the playoffs that a guy who's been on our team all year wouldn't have made?

I trust the Gettlefather to make the best decision.

Looks like Wes Horton may have answered that question.

of course, this could all be much ado about nothing and Rex Ryan could literally be in his ear telling him he's got a job in Buffalo as long as he takes a poo in his locker after cleaning his stuff out

It's 4 games, so I'm interested to see if he serves it right now and is reinstated for Week 17 and the playoffs, or appeals it and hopes to avoid missing any games this year. Wonder how long the appeals process takes? That would factor into appealing or serving the suspension. I'd be surprised if we cut him if he doesn't appeal, since he'd be effectively sitting in reserve in case a Panther D-lineman gets hurt before the playoffs. After 4 weeks we'd have to cut him or cut someone else to keep Horton if no one goes on IR.

Hope Coples doesn't end up in the NFCS. The other 3 teams need rushers even more than we do, are higher up on the waiver claim priority, and 2 have the cap space to keep him. The Taints would need to clear space.

well...he'll be insurance in case we can't work out something long term with CJ. This would mean getting rid of 2 DEs already on the roster 'cause you already have to get rid of one when CJ returns. My 2 guesses are Addison and Horton.

Dude Addison has 4.5 sacks... No thank you

He might be out of contract for 2016 which could reduce his value on the waiver wire.

Surely somebody would kick his tires though. I'll be very surprised if he makes it through waivers... hell, even Aaron Curry was picked up a couple of times.

Man, Ron and Marty went to this dude's house with his family and said they might draft him. I remember he was basically crying when we didn't take him in the green room. He belongs here, we can motivate him. I'm sure he'd give his all for this opportunity.
