Do we have reliable back up RBs?

JStew is balling out, Tolbert is balling out.

Outside of those guys, are Fozzy, Wehger, and CAP capable of helping carry the load as the season winds down?

I don't have stats, but I feel like everything time we take out stew and throw in one of those guys, we are not moving the ball as well.  Am I wrong?

Can't really make any kind of determination; Wehger hasn't been active all season, and CAP has not been active for many games. When he has been, he hasn't gotten touches. I really thought that we'd see more of him with Rivera saying that he wants to rest Stew. Ass for Fozzie...not sure if we're just not using him as we should or if he's a mediocre RB. he has his role as a change of pace back, but I would like to see him doing more.

I think CAP is the future of this team, but man I should would have liked to seen more of him by now.  I've always felt that J-Stew splitting carries with DWill was bad, as Stew gets stronger the more carries he gets.  Still, we need to see what CAP is capable of so if we need to call on him down the stretch, he's not just getting his feet wet late in the season.  I'm a bit surprised by those tactics.

I'm not ready to call Fozzy bad yet. He does ok in garbage time. Broke some big runs last year, and got 3 ypc on his 2 carries yesterday. Can never really tell with a guy until he's "the guy".

Really hoping we can keep the momentum going, and that the other teams keep falling short. If we can lock up the 1 spot in the NFC with 1 game, or even 2 to go, we will get to see what Fozzy and CAP are made of. The Falcons, and maybe the Bucs, will still be shooting for wild card spots, and will likely play us tough.

Panthers made both Wehger and Cap inactive and when Stew took the cheap hit to the knee I thought he was done for the game.  Really would have changed the day.

Props to Stewart for toughing it out (something he has taken some heat here for) and having another great game.  But looks like Bersin was activated instead of CAP.  Yes, Bersin had a big first down for us but all of our "no-name" WR's played well.

Fozzy is getting the nod because of special teams play and his past success with screens.  CAP needs to take note and practice harder in ST drills to get on the field if RR is going to continue to dress 2 RB's and Tolbert.

    • Canales was brought in to fix Bryce. That was how he sold himself. He failed.  the panthers need a new qb, someone to coach him, and someone to build a defensive staff.  Canales has failed at developing a new qb. His big draft project XL is trending towards bust. His entire nfl resume before the panthers was one season as offensive coordinator on a stacked Bucs team, and being on the offensive staff when a 31 year old Geno smith finally put it all together. And he didn’t even pick his offensive coordinator. Assuming evero is gone, who’s he got in that phone to call? What low lvl porn addict evangelical from the bucs is ready to be Peter principled? There is nothing in his coaching history or his current performance that indicates he’s the person to move this team forward. Every other team knew this last cycle (panthers were only interview) and nothing has happened to change that perception   all people like you have is “well you can’t do it again it’s too soon but <random interval of time> will be different.  just pull off the bandage. There’s no reason to let this guy draft “his guy” except people wanting an excuse not to fire him after 2025.
    • Both Reich and Canales were saddled with trying to build and establish a viable scoring offense around Bryce Young. The best the offense looked this season and last season was with Andy Dalton who is also terrible but still better than Bryce Young. Which should be all anyone needs to know but still somehow there are weirdos here salivating over a ceiling of maybe on a really good day the 25th best QB in the league. We've already canned one entire staff over our first overall pick. You can fire everyone again to satisfy your need for vengeance and quickly come to the realization that your next hire will absolutely unequivocally be a downgrade yes man or you can blow up this QB room and then assess. If no progress next season then you can make changes and justifiably so.
    • Surprised this is the only post with this take.  This is like the Rhule kiss of death lol.
