Dear Greg Hardy, memos from Panther fans (I know you will be looking at the Huddle this week)

Dear Greg Hardy,

You were a centerpiece in a Top NFL offense, and you blew it.

You were a roll model to young football fans everywhere, and you blew it.

You were given an opportunity, where every other team in the NFL passed on you, and picked up in the 6th round, because a fine organization believed in you, and you blew it.

Your teammates trusted you, gave you the platform to perform on the field, be outrageously outspoken, and become the Kracken, and you blew it.

You were easily a fan favorite (along with Cam and Luke), and you blew it.

I hope as you sit around on a 3-7 team, who is lead by a heartless corporate douchebag, has one of the NFLs worst bandwagon fanbase, and is filled with the rest of NFLs garbage that you reflect on what could have been.

I can tell you that we as Panther fans have stopped wondering, and frankly have stopped caring "what could have been" with the Kracken.

LOL at the idea of talking crap to the same guy so many stretched their jaw muscles for when he posted, defended him when he was on team, shat on him when he became a Cowboy over the same issue..and now call him out.

"I can tell you that we as Panther fans have stopped wondering, and frankly have stopped caring".....but wait Greg, just know you are on my mind enough to make a thread about!

People still cant unclench their jaws from this guy even though he is on another team!

Kraken.

We can still appreciate his skills on the field and miss that aspect of what he brought game time.  I hope he has a good career but obviously do not wish that when he plays the Panthers.

It sucks that personal choices took him out of the black and blue for both us and him.  I don't have a negative post but hope he has his life in a better place and that he doesn't let the trappings of the game outside entice him into trouble.  It's not worth it.

I do miss seeing him game day as Panther but like he has to, I have moved on.

The cult of personality build around him was huge when he was here. But as usually is the case, when you pull the curtain back, all the warts and imperfections become apparant. We are a better team without him and I stand by this belief.

Out of curiosity, how many game saving plays has Greg Hardy made?  He's playing well in the bits and spurts, I mean, in 6 games he has what 4.5 or 5.5 sacks and a pick. That's great, but they needed Romo to win.

What does that tell you?  How many 4th quarter drives has he ended?  Or many momentum changing plays has he made?  I honestly don't know because I don't care about the Cowboys except for this week.  All I know is that they didn't win a game once he came back from suspension, and a lot of that can be laid on the Dallas QBs.

hardy is by no means an innocent man but the panthers did kind of stand by and do nothing so to speak.  And let the NFL turn Hardy into an example for the NFL.

Hardy turned himself into an example this year.

All he had to do was not go off the deep end and he had a giant contract coming his way. He couldn't do it.

Now all he has to do is lay low, stop talking, and just play football. He can't do that either.

All the talent in the world and he just can't get out of his own way. Stop blaming the Panthers and start blaming the guy who messed up and continues to mess up.

    • You and I both know there isn't a coach we could or can still hire that can "fix" Bryce Young. Even at mighty Alabama with one of the best modern coaches in college football history Mac Jones was still a better QB than Bryce Young. Mac Jones.... We already know how you feel about Canales on a personal level so in that regard you wanting him fired is not news. You don't have to disguise it behind this shroud of rabble about not fixing Bryce Young. To his credit he somehow had us competive against the Chiefs and the Eagles on the road with #9. But no coaching staff can overcome their starting QB turning the ball over 4 times. We definitely have developed some of our younger offensive pieces. And as far as Evero goes he has earned criticism and if he's fired so be it but in his defense many of us said in the offseason this defensive roster was a disaster waiting to happen given the resources we spent on the offense while neglecting the defense. That was Dan Morgan's plan. He swung too hard toward offense to salvage the Bryce Young trade. That's on him. We can scream about XL all we want but at least he's actually been on the field for the most part. The Brooks pick was a luxury pick at the time and now it is a Hurney level blunder. Dan Morgan has gotten a lot of early praise here when in reality he's unequivocally deserving of significant criticism. But if you say that some people get up in arms because he's a former Panther. Big whoop. He has just as much to prove this upcoming season as Canales. That's why to me in my own personal opinion I say one more season and then if it's more of the same say goodbye to both.
    • It's a decent vid with compelling reasons for his opinion. But, my thing is is that you simply can't draft McMillan thinking he is a surefire WR1. There are questions. His 40---rightly or wrongly---will play a part. I'd think that his splits (which will speak more to his game translating to the pros in my mind) are more important.  As much as you're trying to sell us that McMillan is a don't-overthink-it-type-of-player, I wouldn't say that's the case. Workouts will play a part in all of this.  At this point, I like the thought of Tetairoa. That's as much as I can give you right now.
