Back Off Delhomme

They didn't lose at halftime though (or with 10 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter if i remember correctly)

Very true. They lost with :00 on the clock in the 4th quarter just like we did.

4 Ints is 4 Ints is 4 Ints is 4 Ints...get it?

The way I look at it is this: As long as he's our quarterback, he's got my support. As a Panthers fan, I have 53 dogs in the fight too, and I'm a PANTHERS fan, not a Steve Smith fan, not a DeAngelo Williams fan, not a Julius Peppers fan, not even a Jon Beason fan. I support the team. Julius Peppers doesn't have a 1-0 record today for forcing a fumble, blocking a kick. Beason isn't 1-0 today because he got an interception, and DeAngelo Williams isn't 1-0 today because he scored a touchdown. Every single Carolina Panther from the inactives to the All-Pros are 0-1 and that's all there is too it. If I want to continue to consider myself a Panthers fan, I can't understand the logic in rooting for this guy more than that guy or rooting for everybody except for this person. It's not Steve Smith and the Carolina Panthers or Jonathan Stewart and the Carolina Panthers...just THE Carolina Panthers. Team, whole, unit, group. Not the Panthers offense. Not the Panthers defense...the Panthers.

As long as he's the quarterback of the Panthers, he's got one supporter right here. If I want the panthers to win, and he's the guy in the game, we're going to need him to help us win the game. Right now I think with the QB's on our roster, Jake gives us the best chance to win. He hasn't done a very good job by any means the last 8 quarters, but he still, all things considered, gives us the best chance to win in my humble opinion.

Jake haters understand all that and agree to an extent.

But we just resigned him 20 million guaranteed. :mad5:

We need to just clean house-Jake-Fox and Hurney all need to go.

We get ripped by the wise men because we want more flash on our team, but thats what Charlotte needs. It will take another 10-15 years to convert Charlotte to Panther land due to all the out of town transplants. This all starts with a franchise QB which noth Fox and Hurney do not believe in.

We have thrown away all our 1st rd picks the last couple years and we still have crap at WR,QB and no depth in any position other then RB. Not to mention the Peppers thing

Please drop the Panthers from your signature line and add a New York team to go with the rest of them you have there. Anyone who could defend Delhomme after today AND Arizona is no fan of this team.

Please drop that "you're not a true fan if you like this player". You're obviously not a fan with that kind of behavior. Just because you don't agree with someone's view doesn't mean they aren't fan. That like being a Christian & looking down on others for not being a Christian themself. I never accuse anyone of not being a Panthers fan for defending a player I don't like.

QFT

We need to expel not just Jake Delhomme, but his ultra-fans from our fanbase as well.

You can be a Jake Delhomme fan or you can be a Panthers fan. You can't be both. If you want Jake to keep being our quarterback, know that you are just like every Falcons/Bucs/Saints fan out there that wants Jake to keep being our quarterback also.

Actually, you can be both. If not, why do you see many fans wear Smitty, Delhomme, Peppers, Hoover, etc. jerseys along with fans other teams wearing the jersey? Exactly.

Again, I love that lame "you're not a fan of the team if you support Delhomme" or stuff like that. Seriously, some of you guys need to look at yourself.

Jake Delhomme is a good person and I don't think anyone questions his dedication to the game or to his teammates. Personally I'd like to see him come back and silence his critics. No matter what happens though, I have no personal grudge against Delhomme. Management and coaches have to make decisions and if they decide to go with Delhomme then so be it.

There is a natural course to things. Decisions cause results. Many of us didn't like when Beurlein was let go in favor of Chris Weinke. Chris Weinke was a good guy, but I felt Beurlein was still a capable QB. The result of that decision among with others was a 1-15 season.

This year the Panthers have one of the toughest seasons in the NFL. Delhomme will have his work cut out for him and I'm confident that if the team is one of the worst in the NFL, there will be a serious makeover of the team, especially considering it'll be an uncapped year and there might not even be a season in 2011-2012.

With all that said, don't get your hopes up. I've seen this team make some huge turnarounds in the past with some of the same guys and coaches that are here now. Not sure if Delhomme will be a part of that turnaround this time, but if he is I'll gladly embrace him.

Beuerlein was let go due too Seifert's love and stupid wanting for Jeff Lewis too be the starter not Wenkie. He cut Beuerlein because he knew Lewis couldn't beat Beuerlein out in a TC competition so he got rid of Beuerlein. Lewis just sucked so bad in preseason that they had too cut him admit mistake and start a 26 year old 4th round draft pick. Going 1-15 ended Seiferts in carolina for stupid decision. Looks like sombody going the same direction.

if you cant see that Jake is washed up... you are hopeless or stupid or ignorant or clueless or blind...

or perhaps like Jake, you are all of the above

Nice name call against some folks. Guess some like being immature child with all those name call because one don't agree with them. Isn't there a rule here against flamming or calling other names? Some people just don't know how to be mature without the name call.

You know I see the problem here. Delhomme is not the same quarterback he was before surgery. I really think he's afraid to take the sack. He didnt play well last year either but the rest of the team played good enough to make it unnoticable. He used to make some of his best passes under pressure. Now i think he just throws it up to avoid the hit. Now you can argue that its his fault for throwing the passes, but he doesn't have time to make throws, the last 2 games our O line has offered him little to no protection. If Delhomme gets benched you might as well bench the O Line too
