Why is it that they seem to take him out of the game for stretches at a time, right when he gets into a rhythm and seems to be doing well? At one point today, Stewart had more carries than him (and this was before the game got out of hand). I get that we have two good RBs but DeAngelo Williams is our most talented player after Steve Smith, and as such he needs to touch the ball as often as possible.

Strategy wise against the eagles.

Fox was probably hoping to pound the smaller d-line of the eagles with Stewart and wear them down. Then bring in williams at the end and run around the beat up tired eagles defense.

Unfortunately, that strategy never had a chance because of the quick points for the eagles

All these questions... no answers..

or.. here's an answer, DWill got hurt for a period of time today. Soemthing to do with his knee. He came back in at some point towards the end of the game...

but without that happening and in the future you see Stewart more than DWill... It has to do with Stewart having more success than DWill.. The philosophy being whoever is more successful sees more carries.

Williams was horrible today. I was just posting this in another thread. He looked like a rookie out there today picking up blocks. One of the main reasons that Williams didn't start when Foster was here was because of this very thing. I think that is the reason Fox "pulled" Williams if you want to look at it that way.

He is no doubt one of the best runners in the NFL but if he can't do any better than what he did today in pass protection he won't be a starter in the NFL for long. Hate to say it but its the truth.

like mentioned above your post.. DWill did something to his knee and was out for a while.. He was back in during the 2nd half (perhaps the 4th QTR)..

He was waving at defenders going by him way before he got hurt. And while the first drive looked good there were several running plays where I was just thinking where in the hell did Williams of last year go? Mental mistakes killed the Panthers today.

when it comes to blitz pickups...

williams < stewart

williams looks like he's afraid to block. most of the time he just dives on the ground at the defenders feet...or if he does stay standing, he's just occupying space.

rarely will you see williams actually block someone.

people keep bashing me for saying it, but the williams of last year was the product of a good healthy o-line against suspect rush defenses.

      Canales not having experience with College QBs shouldn’t matter. A QB is a QB. Say he can only work with already NFL QBs is not a trait I want in a HC and would be damning.  For me it is Ward over Sanders. So I would hope that is who they aim for and we can an avoid the potential drama drafting Sanders may bring. But I have been impressed with Sanders play, too bad about that attitude.    But if Bryce continues to improve this may be a moot point.
