I thought this part of the story was a little strange.  I don't think someone who does this type of thing trades off one addiction for another as the article mentions.  That doesn't just happen, right?  I have no background with addiction, but it almost feels like they gave him a little scapegoat for doing such a terrible thing.

Actually, it came out a while back the in college, Jared basically made his money renting out tapes from his massive porn collection to other students on campus. The Subway diet was actually a by product of his living in a dorm and not wanting to go farther away from his collection than the short walk to the nearest Subway.

He didn't swap anything. He just lost weight and made some millions, giving him access to what he'd only been able to see before.
