Help me, journalist Huddlers...

Being in college, I am reminded at least 5 times at the beginning of every semester that plagiarism is a capital offense in the journalistic world. The following links are from FOX and CBS, entities I thought were diametrically opposed to one another:

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/redskins-panthers-preview-111815

http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/gametracker/NFL_20151122_WAS@CAR/redskins-panthers-preview

The two links read exactly the same, word for word. To add insult to injury, there is patently false information in both articles. The claimed we beat the "previously undefeated Green Bay Packers". While I'm flattered by that, it removed all respect I had for the FOX article. This is how I discovered the CBS article. Can someone provide an explanation? Or is this truly an egregious copy-and-paste job?

If I didn't love reading about my Panthers so much, this might make me stop reading non-team-official articles.

The AP supplies generic articles to news outlets for their use to fill space.  Happens in the newspapers, too.  Check the byline of certain articles, for example, you'll see something like Steve Reed (Associated Press)... that's how you know it's a news service article that's been distributed to/purchased by several publications.

Now see I didn't know they did this. Thanks.

I also feel like a jackass for making a big deal about it. Lol
