Actually you are saying most not some when you say that much of the criticism of Cam is racial based. I agreed that racism is an issue but not the major one, and you disagreed saying it was the major one.  By simple logic then since most people are while and and by your statement most people who criticize Newton are racist, then you are you saying most white people are racist.  Simple deductive reasoning and it shows your true feelings.  And yeah I am done too as I dont like Tinderbox subjects like race and religion in this forum and I think I went there on both of them.  My bad.....

He deserves all the success he can get but lets look at black athletes who had no trouble with marketing like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods until he screwed up.  If you appeal to the base of fans who buy your product, sponsors will choose you.  And if you raise their sales they will keep you.  Advertisers can surely be prejudiced but most times they are greedy.  It is all about how popular you are and whether you appeal to their target market.  If you are controversial you wont get marketing plain and simple.

What do you mean by "my true feelings?" I'm simply stating that the majority of Cam's critics who are white (not all white people) are racists. It's clear as day.

That's only partially true. Beast Mode did all right this year with Skittles and that one where he was late to class and finally Black Ops 3 and I remember just earlier this year him being very controversial for grabbing his crotch as he fell into the end zone backwards. It depends. Always. But I don't see how Cam could be looked at as more controversial than Lynch....from the perspective of an advertiser anyways.

I am white as they come, and i love Cam. Cam didn't do anything wrong. He was just dishing back what he had received earlier. I have seen tons of comments on facebook and twitter, and most just want to hate on Cam for no reason. You throw logic at them about how Palmer did it and they go MIA. 

There is definitely some racist fugs out there that hate Cam simply to hate him. Most are sheeple that have built their opinion of Cam through the early years. They will not get past it or let it go because of the media and the image they portrayed of Cam.

 

I say fug em all and Cam can keep dabbin, dappin, fappin and anything else he wants. Haters gonna hate and Cam gonna keep pounding that ass.

I don't exaclty know what Dabbin or dappin or fappin or whatever else those words are but if you don't like Cam Newton right now you're a bad person in your heart.

He might not be the most accurate or have the best footwork or whatever else you want to talk about, but he plays the game with more passion and love than anyone in recent memory, very similar to Luck.  Two young guys, two different styles of play, but man they bring it on Sundays and enjoy doing it.  It's the coolest fuging thing to watch.  Two grown ass men playing a kids game and having a ton of fun, while being near the top of their profession. 

That's why I'm a football fan.  Cam and Luck play the game the way it was meant for fans to see.

I think a simple dab should be incorporated in the Purrcusion drum line routine and the Top Cats pregame routine. Cheerleaders line up in the high kick long line and dab together just before their 1st kick. Awesome!

Like the article points out, there are dozens of holes in the argument that Cam is terrible and worse than everyone else for doing what he does on the field. However, so many people are stuck in Cam Newton hate hear that they're not even paying attention to everything else that's going on, and they just wait until someone has something bad to say about Cam so they can reaffirm their hatred for him. Rinse, cycle, repeat. 

I just rewatched the game last night, and something I didn't notice the first time was when Cam got to the 1 yard line out of bounds late in the game, and he didn't quite make it, he's just face down on the sidelines smiling like he knows he's getting in there eventually. If these curmudgeons invested the slightest bit of objectivity into their opinion of Cam they'll realize that he's such a fun guy to watch, and pleasant as can be. I'm glad to have him on this ship.

When Cam came into the NFL there were tons of negative stories on him. I was a little worried about it myself simply because I was ignorant of his career. I didn't follow him through College. But I like to form my own opinions. I've followed his time in Carolina and even been in his presence at various events and it's become clear to me he's a good dude. 

For many people, his obscene draft coverage and whatever has gotten out into the national media is all they have to go off of. So I think this winning season and this dabbing story can be a good thing because awareness of his good community work will be elevated. There will be more positive stories about him if he makes a playoff run and people will learn more about him. 

In contrast Russel Wilson came into the NFL older and more polished in his image. Was immediately in the national spotlight with a contender and immediately was able to get his image established.
