Do not judge Matt Moore on this performance...

matt moore is a guy i really believe we can build a franchise around. I had the same feeling when we drafted deangelo that i have with moore. IF anyone saw that game against USC with him you know what im talking about he has more then IT.

i totally agree but it requires a complete dedication from the coaching staff from this second forward. the qb needs practice with the first team all week and the confidence of the staff and players. it may cost some losses but are we in it for the long haul? i am but im not sure john fox is.

Thank you for being an idiot, ignoring the facts in my post, and furthermore, proving my point.

Kudos for you good sir.

Wanna try again?

No friend, you don't get it.

Pressure or no pressure turning the ball over 5 times is unacceptable. And 6 times in the last game that mattered in addition.

He cannot protect the football, he's incapable of making good decisions, he takes more chances than his physical ability can get away with, and it's starting to catch up with him.

How many times are we going to defer the blame away from this guy?

I will judge him off of his performance - and I liked it. Even his interception was the best looking INT of the whole day. It had zip on it, and it had a purpose, he just gambled on getting it between a few defenders.

I was telling my friend, think back to Jake's "check downs" and then remember Matt's "check downs." Jake's feet started shuffling, and he threw to Moose in the flat, overthrew him by a few yards, led him into the defenders and Moose had it pop off his hand - he had no chance.

Matt's on the other hand, were crisp and on time to where the receiver in the flat had enough time to make a move and try to get some yards out of it. In the short, intermediate, and long throws, Matt looks superior to Jake and McCLown. If Matt would've been throwing to Smitty on Samuel's INT, it would've prolly been a TD. He actually reads the defense.

I am behind Matt Moore... I have been telling my friends all summer I want to start Moore

I rather struggle this year with him and begin to build a future QB then struggle with Delhoome who is obviously past his prime

I am not a Jake hater, and never have been, but its time to face facts, Delhomme is not our future and I think Moore should be given a chance

People will always deflect blame away from him. When he was still here, people would blame FOSTER for Jake's bad games. That was probably the pinnacle of stupid, this is just kinda pathetic flailing because a favorite player of theirs is sucking.

LOL, Foster - another guy they held on to for about 2 years too long. That seems to be the norm for the John Fox era.

im saying that while jake couldn't complete a simple crossing route, the coaches couldn't come up with a scheme to protect the qb. epic fail on all fronts.

No mention anywhere in this thread about how the o-line looked horrible as well. None of our QBs were really any good today ... because the o-line couldn't block. Maybe better coaching could have resulted in them blocking better. Failure on three fronts today ... coaching, line, and QB.

And that's just the offense.

I have really tried to support Jake over the past year and a half, but ever since the TJ injury, it's been obvious to most folks that he has started to play scared. He had more "deer in the headlights" looks today than any other QB I've seen since Maddox. Kid yourselves all you want, this has been around for longer than two games now...

Jake's lost it. He's done. Like Keith Richards died and nobody told him, so Jake's playing days look to be behind him. It's time to start Moore and see if he can lead our team now. I'm stilll puzzled how McCown, who looked even worse than Jake did, made it to #2 over him, but this is Foxy we're dealing with, and he has too much pride to admit that the guy they were hoping for for a long time... sucked. Case in point - Carr. Need I say more?

By the way, this is not a knee-jerk reaction. This has been building up for me for quite some time now, and the pinnacle of my disgust was the playoff loss. I'm sad to see that the coaches believed he could be back and play throughout an extension, even though most everyone else involved in the NFL could tell it wasn't a good idea to extend the offer. I was hoping, like all good fans should, but the tragedy of today should put zero doubt in anyone's mind that Jake is not what he used to be -- a strong, charismatic leader who could will the team to win games they shouldn't. Now, he just looks like a lost puppy out there, and we're all too sad to put Ol' Yeller down. :(
