Crazy yet not so crazy theory on Funchess.

Even though he didn't light up the stat sheet yesterday, there is no denying that when it comes to the "eye test" that Funchess was more involved and made a pretty big impact yesterday, that was followed by a "break out" type of performance the week before. Is it a coincidence that Funchess is starting to have a impact right down the important stretch at the half way mark?

Well I have two theories. A. I think the coaching staff knew all along that Funchess could be a impact player but they didn't want the cat out of the bag so soon so come the 2nd half of the season teams would have to scramble and adjust their D  accordingly.

Now you might be saying "why in the world would we limit snaps for a WR of the coaching staff knew he could be a impact player?" Well my answer to this is simply Rivera knew the risks involved, he put his chips in and made a bet that Olsen/Ginn/Brown/Cotch could hold down the fort so to speak until we are ready to unleash Funchess and so far, Rivera seems to be winning that bet.

Also, another theory is the "rookie wall." This makes theory number 1 make even more sense, if coaches knew we had something special, why play him right away only to have him hit the dreaded rookie wall..

Now Funchess has had a long time to learn the offense, he's finally coming through and a lot less risk of him burning out this crucial stretch and in the playoffs.

Great post, would read again. If only I could figure out how to block your topics before I accidentally click into them.

There it is everyone. The first huddler to comment on an honest PU thread in attempt to put him down for no reason other then to collect pie. Congrats!

Yeah I hate when people do that too but to be honest..this is another stupid thread by him. Why in the world would you limit someone's snaps if they thought he could make an impact right away especially after losing our best receiver? There is no logic in this thread. They limited his snaps and are still limiting his snaps because he is not there yet, he still has a lot of room to improve.
