Cam Was On Target All Day Today

I have criticized Cam plenty for missing some easy passes this year, but he was damn near perfect as a passer today, and the way he came back from those sacks was very impressive. Last year, that would not have happened. If he can keep improving his accuracy, especially on the shorter stuff, he will be the best QB this game has ever seen.

Way to go Cam!

I think that's whats so frustrating about Cam sometimes.  He goes through stretches where he looks just as good if no better than some of the more accurate passers in the NFL, then he has games where he misses some relatively easy passes on a consistent basis.

Also, all the receivers were on point today.  Looked like everyone in the passing game showed up.  Makes a big difference I think.

There seems to always be a correlation between him running a lot and off passes. He didn't run a lot today and was very accurate. We just got to realize that usually when Cam is running around, he's probably going to throw some high balls.

Take the good with the bad. I wouldn't trade his ability to take off for anything. He moves the chains and scores what more can we ask for?

It's called being streaky.

Lots of QB's are like that (Eli Manning, John Elway, Brett Farve, etc.), especially the Big armed/gunslinger type QB's. That's a natural trait. Hopefully he'll reduce this as time goes on. But it won't be completely eliminated.

FWIW: Cam says the weather was better. And he has a point, as the Panthers played in about 3-4 rain soaked games so far this year. That would impact any QB's (especially when you're WR's have had so many critical and plentiful drops).

Hopefully, they're all getting better.

To me, that's just an excuse, and I don't buy it. IMO, there is no reason why Cam can't be consistently accurate, aside from cleaning up his mechanics. He rarely runs for more than ten yards at a time, almost never runs for two plays in a row, and he usually even slows down when he knows he's got the 1st down and can safely get out of bounds. Rodgers runs around every  bit as much as Cam, even though he usually doesn't get out of his own backfield.

Cam can definitely do this if he wants it bad enough.

Sorry I don't agree with this at all. I don't believe him improving on this is a question of desire. I think he has proven a desire to improve and has been. I don't think that he has reached his peak either. There is room for improvement and he will continue to improve as they improve as a team.

Also the toles of a QB is affected when they get hit. He is our offense. Everything runs through him even the running game. His mechanics falter when he gets hit. It happens but I don't think you should dismiss this as an excuse without seeing the validity of what getting hit might do to mechanics. Even Rodgers when pressured makes bad throws. Look at when we got pressure on him, Rodgers made bad throws. Look at Brady against NY he almost threw a game ending INT due to pressure.
