No one will believe me, but I swear...

...when the Seahawks Stadium announcer called for the 'moment of silence' in memory of the tragedy in France, my parrot - who had been chattering on my shoulder while I was watching football- went quiet and put her head down till it was over.

No, really...

I wonder how many others here have totally true stories that nobody believes.

I've been thinking about this randomly lately...

When I was a senior in high school, I was in my car following a couple of friends down this country road. It was night time, pitch black besides our car lights. At a T in the road, we go to make a right, and right in the middle of the road is what looks like a toddler sitting on their butt. I didn't quite believe my eyes, and kept following my friends. When we got to their house, I asked if they had seen the "toddler". It was two girls, and they were so freaked out they wouldn't even talk about it. We drove back that way and didn't see anything at all, and we never spoke about it again. Weirdest thing I've ever seen.

I was driving to Charlotte with my then girlfriend.  I was sooo fuging hungry and I wanted Chinese food really bad.  It was completely silent no conversation just listening to the radio.  I turned to her and opened my mouth and she looked at me and we both said "Chinese food" at exactly the same time.  It's when I knew she was the one.  I still get chills thinking about it.

That's an amazon.  Mine's a quaker (much smaller).

Quakers have a thing they do called a "quaker stare" where they'll suddenly just stop and stare at their feet.  Bird behaviorists don't know why, but I saw it plenty with my other one that passed away.

My current one? Never saw her do it much, but if that's what it was she chose an amazingly appropriate time to do so.

It's not just about that though.  I'm interested in other people's "nobody will believe me" stories like the ones above.

Why did i open this thread? I have too many but here is one i seem to think i have shared here before.

Many years ago, before i convinced my wife to marry me i worked various jobs.

One job was working rent to own. That chapter alone is a fun one.

I was riding with the bosses brother who i was good friends with to go make a delivery.  Washer dryer set i believe.  Most my life i have always had an uncanny sixth sense about things.  Not on demand but when it happens it's stark. So as we drive down a country road i see a woman walking down the road. I tell my buddy i bet you a dollar we are going to her house? Yeah right he said.

Sure enough after a few miles we show up and a few mins later it was her. As we walked towards the house i smelled a dead animal. It was the country so i shrugged it off.

After we hook things up I'm going over some paperwork with the woman at the kitchen table while a young guy and girl are in the living rooom.  We are making small talk and i joke about smelling the animal and i go you guys doing animal sacrifices out here and she goes ohhh no don't say that.  That's nothing to joke about. I go ok and she then starts to tell me her life story and how it's been tough for the family.  Then...this strong feeling came over me and i go ma'am.  I don't want to scare you, then i put my hand on her arm and i go something very bad is going to happen here in tje next couple of days. I don't know what but be careful.  My buddy is looking at my like i was crazy and she kept wanting me to say more. We leave.

Basically a week later on a Sat I'm in the office and our area was behind the cocounter and we had a window that was tinted and we could see out and nobody see in.

As I'm sitting at my desk i see out front that woman walk towards the door and my heart sank. I knew something happened.  She comes in and goes where is that boy who delivered to my house last week and started crying.  I come out and she hugs me and is crying and goes are you psychic or something and goes that boy in the other room,  shot himself two days later. I was devastated and tried to brush it off as luck and told i was sorry it happened.

i will never forget that.

I have had tons of little things like that happen over the years. I'll be walking through the parking lot of a store and have a random song pop into my head. Get inside the store and yep, that song is playing. I have dreams that seem like deja vu and up to a year later that dream becomes a reality. Then it's like double deja vu. When playing music I've had the feeling that a spirit is with me, once I know for a fact my grandmother visited me like this. It was shortly after she passed, and I was playing Texas Flood by SRV, I got so into the song I started crying and her spirit visited me.

I get tons of little premonitions that come true too. Nothing major just everyday stuff. Can't control it though it's totally random

    • Yep, even if you put aside any discussion about what you think about him as a player or how good he'll be, the one thing that is a 100% certainty is that he's going to make some plays that just drop your jaw and question how he did what we just saw. This is interesting as it was something I'd never even thought/heard of until he was walking on stage after we took him.  One of the analysts on NFL Network brought it up saying something like, "I don't agree with this idea, but I know a lot of college coaches tell the star WRs to purposefully take plays off when they know it's not coming to them" It was interesting because the way he said it, almost sounded like he's heard that it was something the Arizona coaches would tell T-Mac to do.  Which on a team like ours last year, actually makes a ton of sense, because we had NOBODY else who the defense had to worry about.  So instead of taking him off the field to give him a breather, just throw him out there on the far side of the field as a dummy to keep the defense's attention and then run a play in the other direction. You're right, he isn't "as quick" as Evans, because he's quicker.  Sure, Evans does use his body better than T-Mac does, but T-Mac is a better athlete with more wiggle to his game and better at making a defender miss whereas Evans is just more likely to run through you. And your edit here is basically just an add on to my above comment, as personally, I've used the AJ Green comp for him ever since his first game for us at Arizona, it was always who I saw in his game.  He has that fluidity that Green had to him, and at their size it stands out. Actually saw another comp last night that I hadn't seen before, and while I'll admit it's been YEARS since I've seen any film of him, my immediate reaction was, "oh wow, that might be a real solid comp for style of play" And that was of Plaxico Burress. I'd like to see T-Mac have a better overall career than Plax had (especially off the field), but from what I remember about his game, the comp for body/style of play actually seems pretty solid
    • Dan signed up shortly before he opened the pizza place, kind of did a little promotion on here to get panther fans to stop by. Several huddlers reported back to say they met Dan at the restaurant, and that he would hang out and talk football and that the food was good. (I thought it was average and kinda overpriced, he wasn’t there when I went). Since his interactions were going positively, he would post from time to time on topics and give a bit of his insight. Problem is it that was around 2009, the year after Jake melted down with the 6 TO game in the playoffs, and basically started the season with similar performances. Everyone was livid that Jake got an extension that offseason and the consensus of the fans was that it was time to see what Matt Moore had. Dan in one of the threads (and in an Interview on 610) said that what he had heard from the team is that Moore was struggling with the playbook and that why he wasn’t starting. People got mad about that and started saying things like oh that’s your concussions talking…and unsurprisingly he left (but without any sort of announcement, he just stopped posting). He probably wasn’t here for more than a month or two tops, the restaurant closed that following offseason.   Dragging the pizza joint didn’t really happen to my recollection until it was announced that he was the new GM and a few of the crazies (OP of this thread among them) equated his restaurant not succeeding to not being fit to be in charge of football operations. You know, typical huddle stuff.
