Maybe it's just the way it was presented on TV but it felt extended. I enjoy Cam's celebrations but I don't know how he gets away with some of the longer ones when everyone agrees that it's taunting.

It's not taunting unless you direct it at someone.  Cam didn't direct anything at anyone until Woodyard came up and got in his face.  If they penalized Cam for taunting (which they very well could have if Woodyard hadn't instigated, and that's the reason there's nothing wrong with what Cam did.  Because he was instigated), then they would have had to penalize Woodyard too.

Tennessee came out the gate tryna punk us. Would've worked against a finesse team, but were tough ourselves and usually do the punking. I figured that celebration was done due to a player lip wrassling on the Titans.

As far as the media, I actually want more drivel from them about Cam.  All Cam hate from the media at this point is pure entertainment for me. This is year 5 brothers, we've heard them all about Cam! They just look stupid. Let's get that Lombardi and watch them sqirm :-)

Did Woodyard deserve it? Sure. But deserving has nothing to do with it. There is a line and in my opinion Cam crossed it today. Can't say I've ever been bothered by his celebrations in the past. 

Really it's not a big deal in the big picture but I don't blame people for being annoyed by it.

Im glad you were there to provide even further context, Jeremy.  Makes sense.  Since he came in the league, Cam is just so imposing, he pisses people off because they know the game is his.  We see it every game.  And because he cant be stopped and celebrates big plays, it really gets under the opponents' skin...  and i love it.

Even if Jeremy hadnt been there to hear it, and maybe my unabashed love of all things Cam makes me the wrong person to ask, but i thought it was perfectly justified just from what was going on in the game.  They tried to "out-physical" us, and had some success with pressure on Cam early and got hits on him....  they didnt hesitate to celebrate either.  So, after those early frustrations and having to endure their celebrating routine plays, Cam owned their entire defense and returned the favor.  Good stuff.  F*ck them.

"Cam Newton" is trending on Twitter. I decided to check it out, and the general consensus is...overwhelmingly positive. The narrative really is a lot different now than it was four years ago.

Woodyard actually has some talent, but despite that Denver let him walk in free agency without so much as even making an offer.

Teams don't just let talented players go without a reason.  I'd guess he wasn't very well liked.

Since then, he's helped the Titans lose a couple of games by committing dumb penalties.
