Coaching led to loss, not Delhomme!!!!!

I was going to make my own thread about this, but am too lazy...

First off, I do not thing the season is over. Just wanted to point that out. The O-Line and Jake were to blame today, as was the coaching (hence this thread). But here's what I was thinking about. How many coaches left ship last year? Four or five, right? Wait...four or five coaches left a...12-4 team that made it to the Playoffs.

Something isn't right here, folks. Me thinks there is more going on behind the scenes than we know. I mean, some of those coaches left on their own...from a 12-4 Playoff squad.

Idiot... Do you even know if I am a Jake fan... I'm stating what I saw... Jake obviously had bad throws, but unless you are a mobile quarterback, with the carolina oline and philly dline matchup, any other quarterback would have suffered the same fate.

So you are telling me that Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees....hell, or even McNabb would have foisted up as many ill-advised passes? I seriously doubt it. I am not going to sit here and argue that the OL blocked well or that the play calling was excellent but ultimately the decision to throw those horrible passes and not take a sack or simply throw the ball away WAS JAKE'S DECISION.

...and at the end of the day we all know now Jake needs to ride the pine but he will probably start the next game and mess that up too. Everyone is so scared to start a back up QB or a rookie QB??!! ..Why? You have to start somewhere at sometime with a new QB. What are we going to do keep playing Jake until he is 60?!!!...We have to take a chance on a new QB !!..and head coach ...

plus both sons left (willing or unwilling)...you may have something there, though...but let's be honest...before the surgery jake was not consistent, people been saying for YEARS that Smitty has made jake look good... it's true...alot of folks think fox was way too conservative (happy with a 3 point lead, hoping for no mistakes in the last minute or two)...this also true...it is alot to be suspect from top brass to coaches and players...in the end, the fan base wants a winning or at least competitive EVERY (or close too) year...don't care what the problems are they need to fixed

wow (listening to fox sports), philly may pick up Jeff Garcia (McNabb has a broken rib)...funny the guy is not flashy but he is consistent and a veteran (and good enough for a philly team that just embarrassed us, but not Panthers????)...would love to have some consistent QB play in Carolina about now, but as usual, fox will ride the delhomme roller coaster, all abroad...:(

I really think it goes back to what the team's internalist told a family member of mine the off-season before Pep's "bad year". He said that Pep (and possibly other players) did not respect the coaching. This same doctor said recently that he just isn't getting any sort of positive vibe from the guys and doesn't see us going better than 7-9.

I may be inventing some drama here, but I think some of the players don't like the schemes that Fox and Meeks want to go with. Yes, they do what they're told but anyone can tell you our D looks nothing like the Giants, Ravens, Steelers, Eagles, etc. And I'd guess that's the style many of our players want to be like. So if they don't like the direction the coach wants them to go, it's entirely possible their attitude is a bit...off. But coaches leaving a Playoff squad and two FO members leaving just isn't normal, IMHO.

But my imagination is more than likely working overtime here.

I feel bad for Jerry though, inviting Tagliabue to watch that wretched train wreck today.

fact: Delhomme is not mobile

fact: Every qb needs some time to set before passing

fact: Unblocked defensive players got through the oline on numerous occasions

fact: Knowing all this, coaches did not adjust nor did they coach the players to pick up blitz or convert the passes to a three step drop.

bullshit jake suck and that period !!!!

john fox isn't a boad coach he just coached a bad game and jake delhomme isn't a bad qb he just had a bad game. coaching nor delhomme lost the game. it was a team effort and they lost as a team.

a lot of people are ignoring some important details in the aftermath. on a punt return, an eagle player clearly hit our guy in the back and that should not have been a TD. also on the same play captain munnerlyn completely took himself out of the play and covered the punt as if the returner had called for a fair catch. those are huge errors by the refs and the captain.

on delhomme's first int i thought the ball was tipped, i cannot confirm this though.

Julius Peppers, Thomas Davis, Muhsin Muhammad, Rhys Lloyd, and the water boy all had good games. i'm not worried at all about this loss. we're 0-1 it's a 16 game season, after this week about 16 teams will be 0-1, it doesn't mean much. the titans beat the panthers in the super bowl year by a lot, these games happen and it's a bit logical to see a connection between this game, the preseason and the playoff game last year, but that's logic i for one choose to ignore.

How much money do we have invested in Jake and the OL?????

Though I think some fingers need to be pointed towards the O-Cordinator and Fox, big time. Too predictable, no adjustments....same thing that happened under HEnning except we all know that Henning is proven to be an excellent O-Coordinator which tells me Fox is a huge problem to this team.

so much talent too, wasted

1st interception...bad pass...not entirely delhommes fault. the othe ones, well poor blocking up front and horrible play calling are to blame. did delhomme suck? yes? but why we got away from our run game and managing the ball i have no idea. the offensive line decided after the first drive they didnt need to block anymore. and the play calling? omfg. why are bombing the ball down the field? short managable passes. move the ball. run the ball. set up play action later. the true meltdown here was like the playoff game. the play callers freaked and got away from the game plan. i bet if we had made shorter, managable passes, run the ball, we could have kept it close despite the two first turnovers. if anyone needs the boot, or rather a punch in the face, its the offensive coordinator. jake isnt the long term solution i will admit, but trading away our first round picks, we cant draft a franchise quarterback anytime soon.

My thoughts exactly.

Yeah you definitley can't blame Jake solely for the loss.

The fact that Moore and McCown came in and did just as poorly is a testament to the Philly pass rush and the coaching staff's failure to make adjustments.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first guy to be tough on Delhomme when he deserves it, but he definitley doesn't deserve the beating he's getting for today's game.

Poor preperation and a failure to make adjustments was our biggest problem in this game.

You people need to stop being petty and realize this is a team game, and the team as a whole, was just pitiful today.
