So will 'Concussion' hit home given Luke's situation months ago?

I've had quite a few concussions and pinched nerves in my days on this earth and it's hard to quantify them in comparison to those types of injuries to what professionals endure on a game to game basis.

Having said that and seeing what happens to pro-boxers, there is a huge difference between a knockout and a helmet to helmet/knee. It's just the price of playing and as a contact sport, football is probably one of the safest as helmets and pads/protective gear have improved/evolved greatly since the protocol has been implemented as of late.

Its just part of the game and there's really not much more that can be done to diminish these types of incidents and the game has definitely become more of a finesse sport in those regards.

Youve obviously got a big heart OP, but I can't help but wonder if you've taken one to the head a time or two...and if you look at the difference between being punch-drunk from boxing and pro football players just being well-concussed, there is a huge discrepancy between the two sports.

And to add to this, the punch drunk comes from the repetitive hits to the head. After a career of 300 hits to the head per fight...they add up. It's also why UFC is actually safer because of the smaller gloves. It's better to get knocked out than to absorb 300 punches. You don't normally see punch drunk fighters from the UFC. Forrest Griffin is the only one I can think of and he would straight up eat punches as his style. It affected him.

I read a article that said helmets actually make matters worse because players feel like they have free roam and the freedom to hit no matter how hard or how much because they are wearing a helmet and it gives the players this false notion of safety

Your logic is sound and yea, players sometimes tend to use their helmets as weapons...even though there is a rule against targeting with the crown of a helmet.

keep in mind this- I said nanny state earlier....11 year old American soccer players can no longer head the ball...for fear of head injury...11 year olds...fear...head injury...weak...things happen...every other country in the world that plays soccer will now have a developmental advantage over our future players...and tougher too!

Wow - didn't know that. That is definately a result of the soccer moms on the side lines. In Denmark we do not have that, instead the football size is adjusted to their age.
