So you also blame Chud with his over agressive playcalling that resulted in a ton of turnovers and 3 & outs, which resulted in our defense giving up so many points....

I don't/didn't like Chud either. But don't act like we don't have plenty of turnovers and three and outs now

Technically, the "offense" is only averaging 18 PPG now... unless you are counting Gano or Norman as a part of the offense.

Gano I could see... but I am not going to look into field position stats that he benefits from that doesn't include the offense.

I still see your point though, and it is valid to an extent. However, I have some serious suspicions that Cam has more to do with our success than Shula does. There are a handful of plays each game that I see and immediately know they are Shula calls. They usually work out terribly.

First of all we didn't separate Chud's offensive points from the special teams so you don't do it with Shula. Secondly who is to,say that the dumb plays aren't Cams audibles and reads not Shula's . Given Cam is running Shula's offense and Shula coaches him up each week to make the right calls and audiibles, it is stupid to say it is more Cam than Shula. The combination is the key and what works but let's not forget who has mentored Cam for years and that was Shula.

If you take into effect the field position we often get because of our defense forcing turnovers, and add in all the field goals our offensive numbers are pretty shitty and I blame that on Shula. I think he was a great QB coach and would be a solid assistant head coach but he is borderline awful when it comes to offensive play calling.

The thing is you say you blame Shula with some pride as if you have a solid point. You critics at this point need to stop showing how ignorant and clueless you are if you still don't give Shula credit.  At the pace we are going he may end up being the best OC we have had in franchise history.

oh I do enjoy it, don't get me wrong...

I just think the polarizing Shula stuff around here is unwarranted.

He isn't great. He isn't the worst possible OC ever.

But to attribute our entire offensive success to him? naaaahhhhhhhh

This is all I was saying. And yet people wanted to flame me for it. One even resorted to personal attack.

I hear both sides of this. And honestly I'm not part of the crowd that wants Shula's head anymore. He has some hand in what thus offense is doing, and at this point I value the continuity over the 3 extra points per game we might get with another coordinator. Especially since this offense is performing well overall and is close to having all its necessary pieces.

I'm willing too admit I'm wrong, for those of you flaming me. I can't argue with 8-0 and if it earns Shula a head coaching job somewhere, then good for him.

massive logical fallacy here in case it hasn't been pointed out yet

I agree with you that what I said does not tell the whole story.. I probably shouldn't have said that because i could see how people would take me less seriously because of that.. but I still truly believe that the style of offense Shula runs is great for this team and allows us to win more games.. In 2013, Shula's first year as OC, it was like all of sudden we realized that the more conservative we were on offense, the better chance we had of winning..  And there is nothing wrong with that.. Its so much more fun than losing..  To be honest, Tom Brady played a conservative style of offense and relied on great defense when he won his first two championships.. And later, he developed into what you see today.. Maybe this is the beginning of that for us?

I have been plenty critical of Shula over the years...but i always think to myself..think of all of the excuses that Cam get's.. bad oline, has to deal with byron bell, a rookie wr being the top target, injuries, all  of which are extremely valid excuses...how do i give Cam a pass and not Shula??  This year, I am willing to say that he has done an AWESOME job.. I love what we having going for us on offense and i think we have shown that when we are clicking, we can be a great offense.

Whether it's a Shula play or not is irrelevant. Cam could make Ken Dorsey look like a genius with his capabilities too. It's hard for me to comprehend why you're not getting this. Chud mentored, and left his play book in Mike's hands. What exactly has Shula done? I'll tell you what's done. He's finally doing his fugging job. And you want me to give him a pat on the back for it? No, he continues his employment with The Panthers. That's all he gets.

I think the people who do their job well deserve a pat on the back and some love from the fan base.  Seems fair to me.  I'm not asking you to do anything, I'm just giving my opinion.

All they really need is a lifesize cutout of a person that half the people on here  can blame when a bad play is called. We all know cam draws all the good plays in the dirt during the huddle. How else do you explain the mn loss last year? Frozen ground equals no dirt to draw in.......

I mean, if Shula were to leave, we would have to hire someone from outside the organization as our new OC right?  I mean, Ken Dorsey (QBs coach), Ricky Proel (WRs coach), and Jim Skipper (RBs coach) wouldn't really be viable candidates for the position.  We do not have an assistant OC position on staff.

Would really be interesting to see this play out.  Hue Jackson, Mike Solari, David Lee, Tom Cable..... Some names we could look at for OC.

Slow down now.  This is just crappy speculation......

I remember talks of Hue Jackson years ago. If he is still available, that should tell you something.

I still see the ridiculous "It's Shula's fault when things go wrong.....and because of Cam when they go right" crowd is still out in force.

Looks like you can squash this particular story though...

Shula not interested in Miami job

Reason: He doesn't want to be a college coach.  he wants to stay in the NFL.

I know this was posted 9 hrs ago.

But apparently, Shula's NO FOOL!! LOL

He knows he's got a good gig in Carolina right now, and "he ain't leaving fo no college job". He wants to leave this team for another top flight QB/situation.
