How Bannergate SHOULD have been handled

We all pretty much agree that the Panthers organization should not be stepping up to replace the Doofus Cheesehead banner.

But here's the deal - we also agree that the Panthers organization is lightyears ahead of other teams in terms of always taking the high road.  But in this case, it should NOT be the Panthers that ultimately replace that banner and deal with Doofus.

In all of the Bannergate talk, has anybody heard anything about how GREEN BAY is stepping up to support their one North Carolina-based fan?  I certainly haven't.

So why are the Panthers being classy and handling this?  Because the Panthers are awesome.

But what should have happened is the Panthers should have called Green Bay and said, hey - we'll pay to replace the banner, whatever, but Doofus is YOUR fan so can you just handle it and make this go away for us?

If this exact same thing had happened to any of us in an opposing stadium, I would love to know that everyone in the Panthers organization from JR on down has their fans' backs, not that the opposing team/stadium owes me the replacement.

Look, stupid is as stupid does. Doofus just used bad judgement and it backfired on him. But he should be Green Bay's problem to solve, not ours.

The only way GB or the Panthers if the roles were reversed, could or should step up for a fan would be if said fan was not breaking the rules or just being a total douchebag, and well...

But, it's Wednesday and this guy has had more more than enough talk about. Lets move on.
