I know many of you wont care but I recently started employing Gettlemagic to my fantasy lineups and win way more now.

I know many of you probably won't care about this, but a slow boring Tuesday so why not.. But I have been playing daily fantasy on Fanduel for some time now (btw, I only play NBA, interestingly enough I know a ton more about NFL in general than NBA but do way better with NBA fantasy than NFL with my model that I employ.. Go figure.)

Anyway, I have always struggled consistently on Fanduel and winning. My strategy always use to be to load up on maybe 3 or 4 "big superstar" type players and fill out my depth with bench players that see little minutes in hope a few will break out.

For those that aren't familiar with NBA an example would be I would have a roster of Steph Curry, Lebron, Westbrook and Durant.. Well since those players cost in the $10,000-$11,000 PER player range (you get $60,000 cap space and have to fill 9 roster spots.) 4 "big name" players would take up more than half my cap and I would be so limited on building the rest of my roster.

So recently this season I started employing "Gettlemagic" to my roster building and while I've still lost a couple, I am well above .500 for the NBA season so far and winning consistently.

So right now I take the opposite approach of my old way, infact I go out of my way and make sure I avoid the high priced superstars and instead have well balanced, well rounded roster or up and coming, young and hungry contributors that get a lot of minutes.. In other words, instead of 4 Kevin Durants.. I would have maybe a roster of 6 Kemba Walker, mid level type players and 3 underrated and underpriced gems to round out my roster and it has worked wonders.

Perfect example is lastnight, I came in 2nd place on a 50/50 and my most expensive player was Paul George and he only cost $8500, rest of my roster was filled with mid level guys that see tons of minutes.

I know NBA and NFL are different, but you can actually employ the same exact Gettleman philosophy on your daily lineups and use the same exact value approach as  Gettleman does and I'm suprised at just how well it works.

quite bashing the thread

I employ getttlemagic at the grocery store and now I have more money. Let me give example: instead of buying 4 fun size boxes of Cap'n Crunch, I now buy TWO LARGE boxes of Cap'n Crunch. Also, intead of buying a six pack of Orange Gatorade, I ask what would gettleman do and instead I buy powdered koolaid and then I have more money.
