ATL's decision to kick a FG with ball on 49ers 1 yard line with 3 minutes left...

What would you do as coach?

Frankly I couldn't believe it when they took the FG instead of going for it on 4th down.  I think that they would have converted it personally.

Quinn says...

Quote

“I chose to kick it there,” Quinn said. “Thought we were getting the stops defensively, we’d get the kick, get stops, use our timeouts and then go attack on offense. We’re a really good two minute team on offense. So, that was the reasoning for it. We didn’t stop them on the third down, they converted. Really that’s where the game took place, so I wanted to make sure I explained our thinking going into that one.”

I'm of a mind that I'd rather lose being aggressive than lose trying not to lose...

Hard to pass up a play on the 1 yard line to win the game.

Regardless of the time on the clock I go for it 100 out of 100 times. The 1 is the point of no return on going for 3. Go for 7 every time.

Quinn is a defensive guy- decision doesn't surprise me at all

If the Falcons were the legit team they claim to be they shouldn't have even been in that situation and they still lost.....to Blaine Gabbert.

For reference, some people considered Blaine to be one of the biggest top 10 QB busts of all time before this game.

His logic doesn't make sense to me. If you're so convinced you can stop them and get the ball back, what's the harm in trying for it? Worst case is that it's a turn over on downs. Stop them then. You also would potentially have a better field position since they'd have to start their drive so far at the end of the field. They'd have to have an excellent punt to put you in a difficult position.

Also, if you get a safety or a turnover so close to your endzone, you're in pretty good shape.
