Question: Cam back to throwing off back foot

Yeah when we lose a game because Cam couldn't hit his short to intermediate routes, then let's criticize him. Until then, stop acting like a abused pet.

Not even then, there's been many times Cam's ability to sling the ball without the pocket to step up in to do so has bailed this team out.

I mean if he misses a throw it's easy to critique his footwork but I see A LOT of QB's missing open throws with proper footwork, those are the guys you should probably be more worried about

Actually, I've thought that Cam has done a good job this season of throwing good passes no matter how crazy his mechanics have been.  I think honestly, he just wasn't having his best accuracy game.  It happens.

Once we start really losing because Cam isn't hitting the passes in big moments, then we can start to sharpen our pitch forks.  He knows he made a bunch of mistakes, and he's going to work on it.

It's been something he has been working on clearly.

What is a huge factor in his mechanics though, which is pretty different from sharp shooting type passers like Rodgers, and Brady, is neither of those guys are a substantial part of their offenses run game like Cam Newton is. If you think that aspect doesn't eventually take a toll on his mechanics throughout the game, then you are lying to yourself. Yes he is a physical specimen obviously, but he's still human just like you, me, or anyone else on this planet.

Can anyone tell me off the top when it was that Cam looked a bit shook up on a play as if he might have gotten hurt? It was on one of his runs.  I think it was 1st half, but not positive.

I've been wondering if soreness could have affected his game in the 2nd half.  There were times were he looked just a bit off late in the game.  That could just be Cam, but I did wonder if he sustained some (hopefully totally minor) injury in the game.

Answered in another thread that I'm far more worried about the defense right now than the offense.

That said, I think Cam's mechanics being.. uh unconventional.. is something that's always going to be a thing because he's so fuging big he can get away with it a lot of the time. Not sure if Dorsey sucks or if the coaches are just in "let Cam be Cam" mode or something, but he falls back a little once he gets wound up.

Just quoting his accuracy % isn't completely fair. He's no surgeon and I think will always hover a little below 60%, but we ask him to throw longer/lower percentage passes that some other guys too.

If he wins more than he loses and keeps propping up the run game while doing it, whatever. He lead the offense on a tear the last two weeks. It's the focus of our team, the defense, that have been collapsing and trying to piss the game away.

I'm worried about the defense as well. They keep giving up big leads. That's what should be discussed.

I think one of the reasons, Cam's been able to throw successfully off his back foot this year (especially deep) vs years past with out as many complaints:

1) It's because he's fully healed from ankle surgery. That's helps a lot.

2) His receivers can get deep with Ginn, Brown and Funchess, vs what they had previously.

3) Cam's reading defenses quicker/changing plays more.

4) Panthers are 8-0

If all these things didn't happen, you'd hear more complaints when Cam throws off his back foot.
