Devin Funchess.. Turning point or headfake?

Finally! After being critical of Funchess the last few weeks, he seemed to have come out of his shell today and make legit plays.. After being non existent the last several games, he looked different and more confident/comfortable today. 70 plus rec yds and 1 TD is pretty solid. What do you think? Turning point? Is this the game he finally "got it" and his coming out game, or was this just a headfake and will disappear again for a stretch? My personal opinion is the coaching staff had a gameplan involving Funchess all along but wanted to wait until the big 2nd half stretch to implement him more consistently.

I think this game shows what he is capable of becoming. We shouldn't expect this every game but this was our first glimpse of something very positive. Truth be told after he started making plays I was hoping we would keep going to him. I was very happy to see this today and see this as a turning point.

Funchess really looks like a slightly faster Benjamin....he misses easy catches but comes down with like 11/10 difficulty catches and poo...it's so weird but you see the talent Gettlemen sees in both guys...if they can get the easy peasy down....then wow. Sky's not even the limit.

Would like to see him use his body to gain leverage on catches more but today was promising.

He used his size extremely well on the 50 yard catch, despite the clear defensive PI that wasn't called.

Today was a step in his progression nothing more than nothing less. I said it before and ill say it again Im pulling for him but in the end when the ball is coming his way he has to make a play and he has to want it more than the next guy especially the one defending him. Don't expect him to become a go to guy after this game but instead continue to make steps and gain experience. However I would expect him to get a few more plays drawn up for him. To be honest he only needs 3 to 5 catches a game  consistently to make himself a viable threat that defenses will have to plan for so in my opinion so long as he remains consistent with the catches he will be on track. Today was a good sign of things to come. We don't want him to get too hot however because we don't want came getting tunnel vision and not spreading the ball around.
