2nd round pick.

2nd year player.

"knew... he wouldn't be long for the team"

Hilarious.

2nd year second round players can get buried on the depth chart for not showing any semblance of improvement, a lackluster rookie season combined with Zero, nada, nilch for the first 3 games of this season can do just that.  He was a risk of getting buried behind very menial players like Wes Horton if he didn't start to show some promise.  Ya know what they say NFL stands for.

I guess you stopped watching him play after the 8th game last season.

Sure did, sorry if I'm not wholly impressed with his 5 tackles (even if 3 are sacks against garbage O-lines) in 8 games.  If you don't think the move to get Allen and Delaire wasn't a shot at the lack of play from our D-Ends, you're living in a fantasy land.  It was a message from Rivera and Gettleman to our entire D-End group, especially our starters, and Ealy was/is a starter.

If you think the acquisition of Allen and Delaire was anything other than to provide replacements for an injured CJ, instead replacing that with "it was a shot at the other DE's", then you obviously know the identity of the 2nd JFK shooter on the Grassy Knoll.

I'm just amazed at how bad our players are. Underperforming rookies and second year players. A bunch of nobodies for our receiving corps. Quarterback with bad mechanics who can't make clutch passes. Tight end as the best receiver. Old or unknown defensive backs. Defensive line plagued by injuries and without star Greg Hardy. Meh group of running backs. No name coach, offensive coordinator who lacks imagination, defensive coordinator canned by the Eagles. Small market expansion team.

Everyone should be so lucky as to have this "bad" of a football team.

Lulz at the lackluster rookie campaign comment too. Ealy along with Star, Short and Johnson were absolutely feasting on OLs during our run. I mean, Ealy was the best rookie DE last year. He impacted this team as a rookie. What the fug more do you want????? Good god.

Man, you're so right...2 non-sack tackles in the last 8 regular season games was absolutely feasting in the run game.  Jesus Christ on a cracker, I gave the fuger a compliment for his improvement this season (and yea...3 games of ZERO fuging TACKLES IS BAD) and people think I'm ignorant.  Get the fug out of here with your bullshit.

Ryan Delaire might not survive past the return of Johnson.

He'll either stick on our 53 or be on somebody elses because he'll never make it through waivers to our practice squad.

Hell, I'll bet the Falcunts would LOVE to have Delaire considering the black hole that makes up their pass rush.

Star had two games where he didn't record a single tackle. Point? Rivera stated continuously that Ealy was doing the dirty that all our players take turns doing in the trenches, and that his time to shine would come. Maybe you chose to overlook it but it was right there in front you the entire time. Ealy has been pressuring the QB and making key tackles all season long as a sophomore DE. Get over it. You armchair analysts and statistical gurus don't know squat except how to panic and bash young players (by calling them busts) who are raw and still developing.

Yes, you are ignorant.

Star plays DT, not DE, 2 different positions.  Rivera Stated that we needed more production from our DE's a few games into our season.  CJ get's hurt, we add 2 players, math tells me something is up.  Ealy, for being praised for his "run stopping" didn't log a single tackle through the first 3 games, and Oh yea, short memory of some, he had 2 crucially bad penalties against Houston that could have cost us the game.  If you don't think stupid penalties and ineffective play can get you benched, your crazy, just Ask Norman and Frank Alexander.  I'm sorry, I watched the same games as you, and didn't see the same "young gun" you did.  Ealy is playing much better ball right now, and I fuging admit this poo, but if you don't think Ealy himself would admit to needing to step up after the first few games, then you're out of your mind.
