Josh Norman on Fox NFL Sunday: "No reason top CBs shouldn't get paid like top QBs."

There's a balancing act Norman should remember.  How many CBs were great on their team, then took the money else where to less success?  There are several who have left their teams and continued to be great.  Also, would you want to go to a place without a franchise QB?  A place where you won't be in a comfortable situation?

On the flip side, his age is a factor.  He'll be 28 in December...  If I'm him, I try to get more guaranteed cash to stay here and make some Super Bowl runs.  That's going to be the deciding factor, how much is guaranteed.

The Panthers and Gettleman will try to offer him something pretty substantial, but they aren't going to giving him a contract that's going to cripple the team.  They need to make a really good effort to sign him though.  It's one thing if someone offers Josh $20 million a year, I think the team can recognize the business side of things.  But the Panthers can't low ball him and expect the rest of the team to be happy.

They will work out something pretty fair, or Josh will go somewhere bathed in money.

Dont think you can look at the past and decide what we will do. We were in cap hell with Cap and Mitchell and had to let them go.  Now we have more money and surely paid Cam and Luke.  We will do the same to Josh.  He will get paid and should be.  But it wont be something we can afford given we have a lot coming off the books this year and should have plenty of money going forward.

    • Soooo many bad turnovers again. Luckily Martin played well.
    • Yes. Cade 100% tripped and pitched it to Mafah.  That’s not in dispute.  We agree on that.  Mafah got the ball, fell to the ground and then attempted to complete the rest of the play….which was the lateral to the WR on the end around.  You are calling the lateral from Mafah to the end around WR the ball popping up.   It was whistled dead.   Then they ran another play.  the review then awarded the ball to SC after we ran another play for what happened after a play was whistled dead.   How does that part work lol?  How do you recover a ball if a play was whistled dead for a downed player prior to a recovery?  I think the refs screwed Clemson twice.   That’s not why they lost.  Please don’t think that is my argument.   They lost because Cade chocked and panicked at the end.  They lost because Sellers should have been put on the ground for a loss countless times and they didn’t.  They lost because our over loyal Dabo wouldn’t bench his favorite hurt RB.    Clemson lost for lots of reasons. SC deserved to win.  Those calls were bad though IMO.  They exist in every game.
    • I can’t recall an NBA team with this many injuries.  It’s getting absurd at this point
