Norman will stay here if he desires the culture more than top money at his position. Could he go for the biggest money grab? Sure. 

I am thinking that Gettleman will have to considerably up his earlier offer to get Norman a contract befitting of top corners and his importance to the team, but I don't think that he is going to break the bank.  If Norman wants to play for Carolina for a few years, he is going to have to take that Gettleman discount, in much the same way that Pats take a discount to stay up in New England.  It's a new day in Carolina, and the Gettleman discount applies to everyone.

Just because he thinks top CBs should be paid like top QBs doesn't mean another team is going to pay him like a top QB.

He will probably go for top CB money, putting him above Luke and right behind Cam at around 14-15m a season.

He's gonna get tagged next year then DG will let him walk in 2017 at 30yo. Some other team can pay a CB on the wrong side of 30 $50m plus. But it won't be nippleshorts.

Norman is 27... How is he going to age 3 years in 2 seasons? The guy has years of good football left in him. Y'all forget why we been signing bargain bin players. So we have enough money to sign our own good players. Norman is one of the best CBs in the league. You don't let a guy like that walk. He deserves his money and we can find a way to make it work.

My big reservation is I'm not so sure Norman is the kind of player that won't get complacent after getting paid, look at Sherman after he got paid

Going to be tough to keep him with talk like that and his "Show Me the Money" attitude. There is no way Carolina can hold on to him. Franchise next year.....

Cbs don't get QB money. Qbs get QB money. You can front load the contract just like we've been doing with cam and Luke's contract cause we don't have a lot of big cap hits right now and still a lot of cap room. We can get Norman locked for average 13 mil a year. For a shut down corner that amazing. People aren't throwing to his side
