My band does a set of 90's covers for when we play multiple sets, and our list is pretty banging.  If you're wondering why we do so many No Doubt covers, it's because we have a female lead singer that sounds kinda like Gwen Stefani haha.  I'm sure a I forgot a few this was just off the top of my head

Two Princes - Spin Doctors

Sex and Candy - Marcy Playground

Say It Ain't So - Weezer

Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty (Yes, this was a 90's song)

What's My Age Again - Blink 182

When I Come Around - Green Day

Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry

Jumper - Third Eye Blind

Semi-Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind

Beer - Reel Big Fish

Fly - Sugar Ray

What I Got - Sublime

Santeria - Sublime

Spiderwebs - No Doubt

Different People - No Doubt

Just a Girl - No Doubt

Sunday Morning - No Doubt

Happy Now - No Doubt

Closing Time - Semisonic

nice. i and a certain huddler are working on putting together a cover band with the same material... minus the no doubt, i don't think i have the range for that lol

Awesome man!  Let me know what songs y'all do!

so far we've got some singles from green day's american idiot album, a bunch of blink-182, nirvana, puddle of mudd, ...and i think that's it. we're rapidly expanding though. i just bought a new rig and i'm playing consistently again for the first time in years so it's taking some time to relearn all the songs i've forgotten

90's music to me is the best even today.

Third Eye Blind is my all time favorite band. I hate it because everyone only knows them for their poppy radio friendly crap but their albums are solid if you are interested in listening to good lyrics. They just released their newest album a few months ago called Dopamine which is probably their last.

Their best songs weren't on the radio. I loved them, everyone always gave me a hard time about it but then they'd listen to the whole album and next thing you know they were liking them too.

For nostalgic reasons my favorite 90s song is still The Difference by the Wallflowers. It always reminds me of going to the beach when I was a kid.

I've been on a huge Matchbox 20 kick lately. I actually find them to be super underrated now. Mad Season, Unwell, If you're Gone are all awesome songs.

I hate Nirvana but I love Soundgarden, Third Eye Blind, and Counting Crows.

I loved Weezer, Early 90's rap, Wu Tang, RATM, and grunge IE (quiet, loud, quiet)

Underrated bands I loved - Our Lady Peace, Blind Melon, Dispatch

One of my favorite live performances to watch is Blind Melon at Woodstock '94. The performance itself was pretty good, but Shannon Hoon's drug-induced state just puts it over the top. You could tell he was feeling every single note, but the rest of the band was not on the same page. Plus there were the interludes where he would just start rambling or when he got the entire crowd to yell "God bless you" to people who had died at the show. The thing that makes it hard to watch is to know it's when he relapsed into drug abuse and this was kind of the beginning of the end for him.

My favorite band of the 90s (or ever) will always be Smashing Pumpkins. Though I did listen to a lot of Nine Inch Nails last night and spent the afternoon with Red House Painters on the turntable.

ETA: Yeah, Blind Melon and Hoon are criminally underrated.

Live! Yes! I got the cassette of Mental Jewelry for my 15th birthday. Pain lies by the Riverside was my jam.  Still a great tune. Other jams of mine;

Helmet-Unsung

Sepultura- Roots album

Deftones- Around the fur album (lookin at you biscuit!)

Days of the new- Shelf in the room

Korn- first album was their best, but Follow the leader had some killer tunes.

And I don't care what anyone says when Godsmack came out that poo was tight. They were overplayed so people got tired of it but early on everyone loved that poo.
