First off I don't really watch much of the Hornets because I don't really give a poo about the NBA anymore.

 

However tonight, I had the game on in the background as I stitched some denim jackets in preparation for winter, and this Eric Collins guy has to be the most annoying announcer I have ever heard. Quit yelling over everything, you're waking my cats who were resting peacefully. Then I had to give them treats and put them back to bed.

Yeah, he is super corny and the classic archetype of yuckity yuck announcer guy.  All of the moves they made this year in announcing, outside of making Stephanie a play by play commentator,  have been horrible.  

The season opener, my wife watched with me (which she never does), and she said she couldn't stand listening to him or matt carroll and that Hildreth lady in the studio. 

You could also tell Dell was a bit peeved during the season opener with him as well.  "Huck huck huck, Dell do you have any memories of opening night?" "Huck huck huck ohhhh,hoooo hoooo!  Would you lookie there!  Itsssssss Floyd Merrryweather!"  Yes, he said Merryweather.  And i tried to not judge him too harshly because he's trying, but he's still doing some ridiculously bad stuff.  Theres been multiple times hes asked Dell or Stephanie questions about stuff even a casual fan would've known about our franchise, and he has no idea.

He's annoying for sure. However did anyone else hear Stephanie Ready start talking about her kid's Halloween costumes? Seriously lol...

I'd say going from Steve Martin to Eric Collins is similar to going from Bill Rosinski to Mick Mixon.

He's pretty damn bad. I usually just tune out the broadcast completely and listen to Clifford yell at the players on D. It's much more enjoyable.

He's back to doing the radio broadcasts.  I've debated turning the radio brodcast on and muting the streams and just listening to the game that way.  Stephanie's not so bad, Dell is Dell, but Collins is pretty bad, but honestly after having to watch last nights game with Dallas announcers, I shouldn't really complain, they were god awful.

Thank god I'm not the only one. It is unbearable listening to him. Some how listening to the Bulls stream the other day was a better alternative.

Collins lacks NBA knowledge and obviously isn't doing any research before the games. He says something wildly inaccurate at least 6-7 times a game and tries to hype everything. There is no reason to scream when Kemba or Al make a fuging layup. Another thing is he never shuts the fug up so Stephanie and Dell can talk. Why can't we just have Stephanie and Dell? I fuging love Dell and I'm fairly sure everyone else does too. I'll give the guy a little bit longer, but I don't like what I'm hearing from him.

Perfect example lol.  I fant remember the exact wording of it, but he did this exact thing the other night against Dallas.

"Huck huck huck, anNNNNND THE HORNETS!  ARE PUTTING THIS GAME AWAY EARLY!" 

So, i was like, "damn, did i miss a few buckets while looking at my phone?" And i waited until they flashed the score graphics back up as they were about to go to commercial. Then it pops up...

"AS THEY PUT THE LEAD UP TO 10 WITH THAT BUCKET!  OH THEY ARE PUTTING THE MAVS ON NOTICE!!!"

Dell and Stephanie were completely silent that entire segment lol.  This guy...

This dumbass just had to be corrected by the twitterverse...  dude tried to give another one of his smartass fun facts and it backfired big time lol.

Asked "did you know, Danny Green is the only other Tarheel aside from Michael Jordan to win an NBA Championship?" 

Both Dell and Steph seemed to be stunned and Dell sounded like he wanted to call him out, but just settled and ocfered him a chance to correct it himself, which he didn't lol.

Fairly certain Jordan wasn't even the only Tar Heel on his team to win titles. Scott Williams was there for 1-2.
