MMQB Article on why people should believe in Cam

Cam is starting to remind me of the player he was at Auburn.  He didn't DOMINATE there, but he played well enough for most of the game.  What made him different was when he had to move the ball--then he couldn't be stopped.  That's what we're starting to see now.

This is a great article.

I love that they are getting to the line of scrimmage fast, something many of us had been begging for since even Chud was OC.

something i particularly noticed last game. get there with 18 seconds on play clock gives us a better chance of getting the right call and players lined up for success

Newton doesn’t seem to care much for words like evolution, or maturation, orcoming-of-age

Oh, look... the same ol' tropes that writers use to make themselves feel better about themselves because they were so fugging wrong from the start.

earned a reputation as a sore loser

Wrong.  HATING losing is totally different from being a SORE loser.

Fairly or not, it’s what has also made Newton a lightning rod.

No, Miss Vrentas, its people like YOU that have created the "lightning rod".

Newton’s unapologetic belief in himself

Why in the living hell should he have to apologize for believing in himself?

Sorry folks.  Yeah, there are some nice things said in this article.  But its still the same ol' "Cam Newton was everything we said he was from the start and look! He took our criticism to heart, he changed, and is now a great player!  Yay us!" article I've read time and again lately.  She sets up the same ol' tropes from the past, never once doubting that most of them weren't true.
