Eagles at Panthers: Head to Head

In 2003, we outgained them in yardage, but we had two turnovers to their one in a 25-16 loss. We would beat them 14-3 in the playoffs that year, in a game in which they had four turnovers to our zero.

In 2004, we again outgained them in yardage, but we also had four turnovers in our 8-30 loss.

In 2006, Jerry Garcia lit us up for 312 yards as they won 27-24. We had two turnovers; they had none.

Though Carolina and Philadelphia have always been defensive-minded teams, they both seem to now have some concerns on that side of the ball. Both teams also have offenses that can put some points up on the board.

Tomorrow's game may very well come down to not only which defense plays better, but which team wins the turnover battle. I know that's true of many games, but our history with the Eagles definitely points to this.

:(

I guess history just repeated itself. We've beat Philadelphia only once out of the six games we've played them -- and it was the only one in which we won the turnover bottle.
