Angry Ales "Official Packers Bar" of CLT

Seriously, why is this an issue? Let them have their cheap beer and cheddar for 16 weeks of the season.  Hell, be thankful that the owners are herding them in to a single spot on Sunday so you don't have to try and squeeze between two 300 pound dudes in Rodgers jerseys to try and get the bartender's attention when we're on the road.

As for this week, what a great opportunity to remind the owners where the live!  That place should be overflowing with blue and black, with occasional cheers of KEEP POUNDING ringing out.  Let's be a great host city, but make sure they know they're guests all the same.

They have every right, certainly. But if you advertise about it and I hear it, I'm not patronizing uour business.

I feel the same way. I have no remorse for anyone who promotes another team in this city. Maybe I take sports too serious, I don't care. That's how I feel. And I will do everything I can to make sure no one attends that place.

It's sad you can't even find a Panthers bar in Charlotte .. it's not like there are Panthers bars in cities all over the country like there are for the Packers and Steelers SO ... due to that reason, make other teams bars off limits in the one spot there should be many panthers bars cause there are very few around the country.

Charlotte should say no to promoting other teams as other cities don't promote the panthers like they do other teams. Is not like GB has a Panthers bar in GB so it's all good.

I think its pretty much understood that every bar in Charlotte is a panthers bar....unless designated otherwise.

But if I lived somewhere else I would want to find a Panthers bar there...oh the inner turmoil

This^^^

Every city of any decent size has bars like this.

Talk about people over reacting....but then again most are the same people on here who run to start a thread every time they think the media doesn't say something nice about us.

FFS people... if MH and I actually agree on something then you know your stance is poo

Yep....it should be bookmarked.  Does not happen often.....or maybe even ever.

But then again, there was that article on MSN yesterday about evidence of alternate universes.....maybe we have fallen into one.

Just a word of court for those of us that are outside of NC. Deals like this is how we riot members can have our "own" bar outside of the Carolinas. I had to convince a Ravens bar here in Baltimore to be a Panthers bar. They aren't a full fledged Panthers bar yet but if they thought they would lose money supporting us, we would have a hard time. So I get the sentiment but it's a dual edged sword is all I'm saying.

This 1000 times.

I realize we have to protect the home turf. But I remember there are several bars in Charlotte that are 'steelers' bars and other teams bars.

it's part of the game man. Us that live outside the Carolinas would be thrilled to have a bar that's filled with our teams fans. He'll I almost got one of the bars I go to here In Mexico to put Panthers jersey's and helmets. I'm gonna go back and demand that since we're doing so good right now. I even asked the owner to promote more about the NFL, it's growing outside the USA and people are digging the sport. These are ways to make the fan base grow. Unfortunately it's a double edge sword.

In the end it is a business, if they choose to cater to a certain demographic, they could be putting the noose on themselves, the amount of transplants from the GB area aren't many from what I remember when I lived in Charlotte. The few Packers fans I knew much rather cookout and watch the game at home.

I wouldn't frequent a business that discriminated against me because of the color of my...........jersey.

What about Dex, Monsta, OPFI Maine, and all the others that don't live here. You think that when the Panthers play near them they wouldn't want to gather with other fans?

The biggest issue with a few here is that they advertise during the week of the game. I'm pretty sure I heard that ad back in 2012 the last time I lived in Charlotte. I don't believe you have the option of buying ad time or space and then having it turned off for a week.....and I can't think of a legitimate reason you would want to.

Ummmm.....you obviously haven't been looking. Or you live under a rock.

What the hell kind of fun would it be if everyone was a fan of the same team? I will avoid Angry Ale's this Sunday, because it's a 'Packers Bar' and we're playing the Packers. However they're also a local business, and they've been a mainstay on Montford, which is in my neck of the woods, so I will continue to support them on days when we're not beating the poo out of the Packers.

I would bet if you went to Pittsburgh and tried to get a radio station to promote a Panther Bar the first thing you would hear is a freaking click and dial tone.

The only way we build a diehard fan base is by making those that choose other teams to at minimum go into the closet.

What if you couldn't get into a game (not this one) and you walk into this bar and the Packers are playing for example the Vikings.  Wouldn't you feel just a bit pissed off that your hometown team isn't being shown because they are showing the Packer game.   I would NEVER go to that establishment again.  EVER.   It is wrong and the only way to get rid of it is to show loyalty to the Panthers and not go there. EVER.  YEAR AROUND EVER.

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is pay them and they will damn near advertise anything you want.
