Look, stats are great for guys who like football because fantasy football brought you to it. Real football fans love to see their team win, stats aside. I recall your fans in 08 finishing .500 and still cheering Brees with a pass record. Cam does exactly what the team needs which is carry the offense as a runner and passer. The entire offense runs through him, as much as any QB in the league. Panthers get a lead and grind out the win instead of chucking the ball all over the place. Can has never complained about the punishment the team asks from him and puts his body on the line every week. 

Golly, I can't believe the saints are at .500, lost to Buccs at home with Brees playing and with all those amazing stats you listed. The good ole days when it was just about the wins, now you fantasy nerds pussified the game with all your stats. Here's to the end of the Brees era, enjoy the ride into the mediocre sunset.

Couple things. I've never played fantasy football. Don't find it interesting. Drew didn't get the pass record in 08. Fans cheered because it was the last game of the season. They weren't a good team, but they played hard. It's the same reason they're greeted at the airport coming in from away games, win or lose. 

The whole he does what he has to and nothing more thing is laughable. The offense doesn't consistently stall out because they don't have to move the ball. The Panthers don't lead the league in drives without a first down because Cam doesn't think he needs to go out there and pick up a first down on a drive. It's because the offense isn't very good.

Again? When did I leave? I posted at 0-1, 0-3, 1-4. Now we're 4-4 and that's the reason I'm posting? This team hasn't been over .500 in almost 2 years. If I only posted when we were good, you'd never see me.

you seem really obsessed with stats, maybe because your team has been able to be an offensive powerhouse almost the entire last decade so it has warped your perception, and thats ok i get it. same for us, we have always been a defensive first team and us fans appreciate the toughness that is instilled because of it. funny thing, when Cam was getting meatier stats, the knock was he couldnt win games. Now he is asked to put personal stats in the back seat for the greater good of the team and the backlash is that his stats aren't good enough. You can certainly try to say the defense wins games, which isn't true. At best, they may get the save but the offense has had to score late in games almost every week, and that is on Cam.

and i know Drew didnt get the passing record but so many fans had signs assuming he might, event though the team was 8-8 putting personal stats above the greater good of the team. he came up a few yards short and instead of trying for the win at the end with a hail mary, he threw a shorter pass to get the needed yards, but still came up short. so, we could argue Drew is the selfish one, couldnt we? but we'll leave the hating to the teams looking up at us from below.

and btw, I'm not pushing for Cam to be the MVP this year. I think Tom has all but locked that up, but Cam should certainly be in the top 5 conversation. I think the Panthers are one year away from magic- being the Super Bowl and real chance for Cam to be the MVP.

I'm not even the one who brought up the stats. I was simply pointing them out. And I'm not sure you'll ever hear a Saints fan say that wins are a QB measurement. And stats don't matter if you're winning or not winning games. Winning games is a team effort, and no matter how good your QB is, he needs help. Drew has had unbelievable offensive seasons and played on a .500 ball club because the defense is the worst in the league. 

I just don't see it. You can chalk it up to hating on Cam. I'm not sure why I would, because I give the team all the credit in the world. I've said on multiple occasions I think Cam has the talent to be the best QB to ever play the game, if he'll ever get his accuracy problems fixed. The Panthers live and die by the defense. The defense will keep the game close all day while Cam and the offense do nothing and then they'll finally put something together late and Cam is the most valuable player on the team? I just don't see it.

I think the Panthers have just as good of a shot, if not better, than everyone else in the NFC this year. They've got the best defense in the division and when you play good defense, you always have a shot.

I think y'all are confused about what MVP means. Every team has an MVP, they're talking about the league.

"How many wins would we have without Cam?" How many wins would <any NFL team> have without <that teams best player>?

and I'm very fine with this, you not seeing it because you dont matter. you would have to watch full Panther games to understand why people are suggesting he be in the MVP conversation, and please, dont even tell me you do, or you would see it. IT being the running game goes through Cam, the passing game goes through him, the offense goes through Cam more than any other offense besides the Patriots. This offense isn't full of HB screens or short crossing routes that make life easier for the QB like what you're used to, Cam is asked to make very difficult throws which is why the success rate isn't as high as what would satisfy you. But with a good defense and ball control offense, it has created a winning formula. Cam isn't a scrambler, he is a hard nose runner, which is why is ypc is lower than scrambling QB's, because he is asked to get tough yards.

He is right. He doesn't at this point have the stats to pull votes. He's still elite and having an amazing season.

For our resident Saints fan that thinks our offense isn't good enough to scare anyone, I wonder if the Seattle D would agree with you after giving up four 80 yard scoring drives, at home no less. 

And as far as the stat padding question goes, I remember all too well our last game of the year against the Saints a few years ago. We came into the game badly injured and got blown out. So your boys used the whole 4th quarter trying to get records for Brees and Graham and I don't remember who else. The TV broadcast even showed Brees talking to SP on the sidelines about getting everybody their respective records. That was totally classless, and showed what kind of ethics permeated that organization.
