Cardinals are a good ball club. 

Panthers have a better defense than all of those teams though. They consistently put your offense in a position to score. Just my opinion, but without the brilliance of Norman thus far, Panthers have a few losses. The offense hasn't been very good at many points this season. Obviously, there's been stretches where they've played well, but overall, they haven't. So the defense playing well and giving them opportunities to score has helped tremendously.

I think with Cam they look at his stats with the wrong mindset.

People have a statistical prototype for an elite QB. 4,000+ yards passing, 30+ touchdown passes, 65% completion percentage, etc.

Like Gruden was saying on MNF. No other team in the NFL has an offense like ours. We run QB power plays.

Sure, Cam has 11 TD passes and 8 picks, but he also has 4 touchdown runs. He has put the offense on his back. How many picks has Cam thrown that were tipped or dropped by his target?

If you watch the games, you see a QB that has improved in accuracy, ability to read the defenses, and pocket awareness...but his QB rating and QBR are the lowest they have been in his career. Some stuff is just out of his control.

Air Coryell with a QB that can run middle is something that will never be done again in the NFL for years to come. They said it couldnt be done, they called him a bust, then they drafted 10 guys in the league just hoping that they would be as good as Cam. We found out theyre not, Cam is the only one who can do it.

 

He runs THE most difficult playbook in the NFL.

 

No one else can execute it.

With all due respect to Derek Anderson, take Cam out of the current iteration of our offense and I shudder to think how we'd look.

I don't disagree with you, but that's not really what I was getting at.

My point was that he now doesn't have to feel like he has to do it all as he did in his first few seasons here. When Newton had to put the weight of the team on his shoulders, we were not winning nearly as many games as we are now that the team is playing as one. Cam is obviously still making those crucial plays that we have come to know from him, but he also trusts his teammates to make plays as well. That is the difference maker this season.

A lot of the interceptions Cam has thrown have been tipped passes by our own receivers. I bet at least 4 have been tipped and not just bad throws. I know that is a normal thing, tipped passes that are picked off, but I don't think his accuracy has been nearly as bad outside of Monday Night as in the past.

I'm not a fan of the "hey, let's get his college OC" approach that Indy took.

Why I think Cam deserves consideration for MVP:

The entire offense, including success of the run game depends on him. IMO, Stewart has played 2 great games and one pretty good, otherwise, Cam has carried the ground game. Cam has made clutch passes all season, and could have had a few extra TDs. Had Ginn caught that 50+ yarder, Cam would have ended up with over 300 yards and 3 tds Monday night, which would have made the stat geeks fap on their calculators. Yes, our defense is good, and one could argue Norman could be the team MVP, but how our offense is being run, that is kinda our defense as well, keeping them off the field. Cam has enabled the team concept and has become a winner at this level.

Why Cam won't win:
