Terrell Davis says Cam is no MVP

It's just reality.

His TD to int ratio is too high especially when you have an all time great like Tom Brady playing arguably his best football at 38 years old dominating teams left and right to a 7-0 record.  

Stats matter and that's just the way it is.

Wouldn't trade Cam for the world though.

People keep talking about numbers. This season isn't even over yet. One number they fail to mention is the offense is 4th in scoring and number 1 in rushing, 2 stats Cam is a huge reason why they're ranked that way and because of that we're 7-0

Stats in a vacuum don't matter.  

Like I said, 2 QBs could post identical stats in a game.....one could of played horrible and the other great.  Stats don't get into what actually occurred.

Arguments in a vacuum don't work either.   I've watched a ton of games this year and Brady is playing out of his mind.  Stats do matter.  That's the way it is.  If you think they won't have an influence on who gets voted as MVP then I don't know what to tell you.

Plus, I didn't say it was right or I agreed with it, so there's literally no reason to cherry pick my perspective.

i agree, but I just wonder how Brees didnt get MVP back in 08 after putting up crazy stats while leading his team to 8-8

"Most Valuable Player" has become synonymous with "Best Player", but by the true definition of the phrase, that's incorrect.

Is Cam the best player in the league? No. You could argue he's not even the best player on the team.

Is he, however, the most valuable player in our games so far?

To that. I think you have to say yes.

He is not an MVP in my opinion and it's not even close, but I could care less. Just win baby ... win all the way to the Superbowl. Don't care how ugly it is or how many picks he throws

If they give him the MVP though, I'm gonna love it. It will be fun to see all haters lose their minds, all the hit job articles and the talking heads cry

Cam is not the MVP. Maybe not even of your team at this point. I'd give it to Norman at the moment.

The thing about Cam that too often gets lost when just talking about his stats to justify his MVP worthiness is his rushing ability.  Not only is Cam probably a top 10 QB throwing the ball, but he happens to be probably THE BEST short yardage back in the entire league.  Thats QBs, RBs, FBs.....whatever.  Cam is as close to unstoppable in short yardage situations as you can get.  Since he came in the league I believe that he is top 5 in rushing TDs overall.  There has never been a player in the NFL like Cam Newton.  Its pretty impossible to go back historically and find someone to compare him to.

If we continue on this path, and go something like 14-2 and make a deep run in the playoffs, Cam damn well might win the MVP, and deservedly so.  He could also be co-MVP with Brady.....just like Manning and McNair.

Cam doesn't have to be. Different guys all play a role. That is why our team is 7-0. These guys are playing for each other, it's a tight knit group.
