Pass Rush vs Packers

Seems that this could be a deciding factor in next week's game.  The attrition at that position appears to be taking it's toll on us...we had Ben Jacobs playing DE last night.  This is going to put an increased significance on how effective we execute our 3rd down defense.  The Packers are going to attempt to keep our D on the field with the hurry up and an short passing game.  KK and Star need to play well to affect Rodgers' accuracy and hopefully make the Packers switch to more conventional 5 and 7 step drops. If we can do that our DE's have a chance, but in order to be effective late in the game they'll have to play lights out in the beginning of the game.

Curious to see what you guys think about how we help our pass rush until we get guys back from injury.

Thoughts?

Keeping him in the pocket might be the most important thing though IMO.  Denver's key was keeping him in the pocket.  Often Rodgers has had all day vs Denver but they weren't going to risk letting him out in favor of quick pressure

Agree....interior push will be very important.  Thoughts on Wes Horton?

Double Cobb with Bene/Jones and a safety, Norman shuts down Jones or Adams and blitz TD or Luke regularly. Their guards are the strength of their line. LT Bakhtiari is the weakest link on that line. Need a big game from Allen. I suspect they will double Kawann like the Colts did.

Tillman vs Jones or Adams would be the key matchup. Fat Lacy and Richard Rodgers don't worry me. Starks can be dangerous. I feel surprisingly good about this game.

I expect a similar game plan like Denver.  But i also think more zone blitzes would help.

This to me is the biggest game of the year and not just because it's for home field advantage. The last 11 or 12 wins in a row in the regular season has been against teams without a winning record. Lose this game and the schedule gripers come out.

Rodgers is very god with quick reads, it's what has them leading their division.

Doubt we hit him often. Consistent pressure, and getting their arms up will be imperative.

Our oline, and the rest of our offense MUST be able to sustain drives, to keep their offense off the field for as much of the game as possible, and to keep our defense  rested.
