Last night had to help Cam's MVP hopes

I don't frequently start threads on here but seeing as to how the NFL Network talking heads were giving Cam props and saying he's in MVP contention,

I just wanted to point out that this proves that award goes beyond just individual statistics, for those who thought it didn't. Cam has had a phenomenal year because literally every time he's had to carry us, he's done what is needed and is an integral part of us being 7-0. Now that my post game erection has subsided I can type all that and say that last night's win shouldn't have been near as close as it was but I never bitch after a W. Neither should you.

And don't forget OP, the fans also got to see the terrible receiving which continually cost Cam's stats (if not wins).

Cam should have had at least 3TD's, and 350+ passing  yards last night (with a dramatic walk off TD for the win), instead of the 248 with 2 TD's-gutting/sweating it out, and almost losing.

This scenario's been happening all year to Newton. Let's hope the wins keep flowing as well (along with strong/credible Top 2-3 MVP consideration) in concert with playoff success?

Cam is a gamer. And I don't mean that solely in the playing Madden sense.

He was always about making the right play at the right time when he was at Auburn, but he had a better supporting cast at most positions because that's how it is in college. With the Panthers this year he's had to lean heavily on Olsen and Stewart, both of whom have delivered. But Carolina is 7-0 because, when I thought late last night "Alright Cam, you're gonna have to carry us," I felt like he could. And he did.

I understand the argument. I just don't think voters are going to give him their vote because Ted Ginn drops perfect passes. That's just not how these things work. He's playing very well but he needs to do something more for MVP. He has 9 games left to prove it.

I'm not sure what that could be. I mean, would you rather have 2011 Cam with the sick stats that make you pop a box-score boner but get mad because he loses, or 2015 Cam with the above-average stats who gets you a win every week? He's at his best now. And his best deserves an award.

If that award isn't MVP, a Lombardi and Super Bowl MVP I will make my own MVP award out of broken glass, old Panther logo stickers and Elmer's school glue

Not saying Cam doesn't deserve it but unless the wheels fall off of New England Brady will win it.

I agree. The sad state of things is that few have time to actually watch all the Panthers games like we do. People just look at stats and see 48% completion percentage and a pick.
