Not emotionally hate. They don't think Carolina is a good team, middle of the pack to be more exact. It's more like Vegas has the Panthers as an 8-8 team getting lucky type of thing. 

 

Vegas still has the Eagles ranked above Carolina.... lol

fans typically remember what happens most recently. by the end of the week, you will go from doom and gloom to mostly confident. otherwise, watching the game would be unbearable.

Not generally, but they still have insider rankings that has a formula behind it based on Strength of victory, HFA, PF, PA...ext 

Those rankings are based on which team they feel is better and doesn't have anything in the formula on normal betting habits. Like vs spread... ext, that's all rated separately in a completely different table.

I bet a ton of people take that bet, which is the point of the spread.  Has nothing to do with how good the teams actually are.
