The evolution of PHILLY BROWN

Good grief, some people need to raise their standards. Fourteen receptions, 175 Yards and two TDs through seven games for a WR (much less a Z receiver) is paltry.

My standard is not the he-has-not-fuged-up standard, and I am not going to apologize for it.

Well, in fairness, part of the reason he has 14 catches is that we throw it less than most other teams.  And when we do throw, we spread it around more than the average team.  We have 10 receivers with at least 5 or more receptions.  For us, quality is more important that quantity, and over the last few weeks, Brown has made some big catches, with no drops.

I don't understand the hate on brown.  Yeah, he looked terrible during the preseason, but that dude has made some clutch catches when we needed them so far during the regular season.  That touchdown against the Colts was beautiful. In fact, the only bad play I can think of that he has made is when he stepped out of bounds before catching that one pass..  And that's a correctable mistake.   He may have earned our ire during the preseason, but he has stepped up in a big way when it mattered.

Was Bersin on the field at all on Monday?  Surprised he didn't come out to make any 3rd down conversions for us.

IIRC, he may have had 1 or 2 snaps, but was almost exclusively playing special teams.  Bill Voth has the snap counts up at BBR, but I don't have the link handy right this sec.

Look at Denarius Moore, who you've lobbied endlessly for, a guy even his old coach didn't want.

Through 3 teams in the last year alone, he's managed 115 yards, and zero touchdowns. All of those yards came from 2014 with the Raiders by the way. So he had zero yards with the Bengals, and has zero right now with the Bills. He's probably going to be out of the league by next year.

So I hate to have to tell you this top dawg, because you are certainly a bright guy, but your standard for WR's is pure poo.

I wanted Moore too, why? Because he has 3 seasons with the Raiders before they got decent that are pretty good. Buffalo, man, Watkins is not even producing there, CHILD PLEASE ... Cinci has AJ Green , Mohamad Sanu, Marvin Jones, and Tyler Eifert, no need for Moore

But a team like the Carolina Panthers who have Ginn, Brown, Funchess, Olsen, could really use a Wide Receiver who put up

618 yards as a rookie in 2011 and 5 TD's

741 and 7 TD as an improving second year WR - 2012

2013 - 695 and 5 TD

his lack of production last year and this year is clearly an anamoly dim wit cause he produced real good for the dumpster fire that is the Oakland Raiders and with Cam passing to him he could replicate and imrpove his stats, so fug off, his standard of WR is pretty good, finding the diamond in the rough type good

It's a what have you done for me lately league. What he did years ago means exactly zilch.

As of right now, he has done less than nothing. That is with 3 teams in one year.

Perhaps you should actually try to type in coherent sentences before insulting others. Good day to you.

I have lobbied for a lot of people, including Kelvin Benjamin, so keep bringing up the one that for whatever reason hasn't  caught on if that's how you get your jollies. Continually conjuring up Moore is weak sauce. I have recently lobbied for Alshon Jeffery,  but not a peep out of you because that standard is poo,  right? No,  because it doesn't fit your shallow narrative.

Oh, and by the way. As to your shitty argument that Moore simply isn't getting any numbers because he is playing behind other WR's. Even our own Brenton Bersin has more yards than Moore this season.

Moore is actually playing.  He is a return man,  you know,  the thing that our two upstarts failed at.

Stop bringing up the past and look for solutions for the present and future.  Dead horses are dead.

The solution for the future is either on the roster, rehabbing from an ACL tear, or has not been drafted yet.

It's possible that we pick up a player in free agency during the offseason, but probably not a highly paid one.

We aren't going to be a pass heavy offense, none of our WR's are going to look like world beaters except for KB, and even he may not rack up big numbers.  It's just one of those things.

Who wouldn't want Alshon right now?

Curious how you don't mention David Gettis. You were almost even bigger on him than you are Moore.

So, you can continue to try to flip this around on me, or you can acknowledge that as of right now the two WR's that you have hitched your wagon to over the last several years turned out to be huge failures to put it kindly. Yet you constantly dump on guys who are actually producing right now, like Brown. So yeah, your standard clearly needs work, don't blame me for it.

You of all people talking about class...on the Huddle...LMFAO

Anyway, I am glad that Philly did his job. It has been too far and in between, but thank goodness that he showed up against (what was coming into the weekend) the 32nd ranked defense in the NFL (now the 29th [28th]). If you want to crown his ass, then crown him (and crown Ginn and the rest of them while you're at it). He did his job. Hooray!

The only Moore that I would be excited about is Herman Moore, because that would have actually been Guiness Book Of World Records material.

Vontae Davis was actually covering Philly for much of the night. Unit ranking isn't very relevant when looking at the individual matchup.

Stupid elementary lies and taking things way out of context which is your modus operandi.  I thought Gettis would have done better (and deserved to be on the team) more than Armanti Edwards. I thought Moore would be better for us than Brown (and still do),  and I thought Boykin would do more for us than Brown (and still do).  I am not going to apologize for that.  No one can prove that I am wrong.  These receivers are not my standard,  they are just either what was put before me or have been available.  Stop being so simple minded.  I know that you can think more analytically than you let on.   But, like I said,  it doesn't fit your stale narrative.
