Believe it or not, this win was a statement win

Seriously, it was.

The league wasn't on notice until this very moment. Here you have a team that was lackluster on offense for much of the game. Sure, some good plays sprinkled in at times, but it was the defense that got us the lead to begin with.

Our defense is suffocating. Sure, we let some runs squeak through, but we're also banged up along the DL and Shaq is out. All in all, we looked good on defense (Norman continues to shut dudes down. I think he allowed what, two catches all game?).

Offense, we won ugly. 3 turnovers, but we battled back from it. Our offense never looked down on itself. Cam missed some throws, and had some drops from guys, but he kept battling through it. He kept trusting his guys.

We lost our centerpiece on the line last week, and another cog in the OL machine at guard tonight. But we still fought through it and found a way to win.

This team can literally play it's worst game, on a national stage where it's easy to choke away the lead then give up and chalk it up to the other time fighting harder than you, and STILL find a way to pull out the win in the clutch. Cam absolutely plays his best when we absolutely need it. Two weeks in a row now, he has lead big time surgical drives. Shame he couldn't cap the one this week with a TD thanks to Ginn, but it's just the fact that he CAN do it.

We're playing to our opponent's level. Have all season. If that trend continues and we sure up the mistakes we made tonight, the Packers will be the next victim to what is almost undoubtedly the most physical team in the league. Arguably the most hungry team in the league. And arguably the most unified and selfless team in the league.

Side note to all of this. At first, I was on board with the "sign/trade for a WR to come in now!" movement that started after this win. Now that I think about it, as close as this team is in the locker room and how much they fight for each other every play, I don't want to disrupt that. This is our team, for better or worse. No need to throw of chemistry by trying to bring somebody in who may produce on the field, but won't necessarily gel with our guys. Could throw chemistry off.

This win meant a lot. Everyone in the stadium was saying "we did it again", "typical panthers", "another let down game" but the team kept pounding and won anyway.

This team is special and this season will continue to be special.

As much as I hate to say it, the Cokts just delivered the blue print against our defense. It has always been our Achilles heel. We get way up in a game and we allow teams to come back. It shouldn't ever happen.

GB comes in this week after being embarrassed on SNF. They will attempt to wear us down and keep it close until the 4th qtr.

Also, TY Hilton burnt Norman last night for the game, thank God Luck under threw it which allowed J-No to make a hell of a play.

All I'm saying is we're one of "those" plays away from losing a game. Need to stay humble and focused with perfection on the line.

to be clear, I'm definitely not complaining. If Gano misses either FG last night or Luck put another foot on the ball over Norman this place would look completely different.

Glad we pulled it off. Haven't been that emotionally off watching a football game in a very very long time.

If u think they don't care about being undefeated you're wrong too. Go back and watch both overtime drives and watch Norman, Davis, Luke and many more literally at the edge of their seats, biting towels, pacing. They want to stay undefeated, and they know that they're gonna have to tighten some stuff up to so.

It apparently was a statement game which I did not expect while watching it. I thought our team did not play great, certainly not the best they've looked this season. Yet, everything I see from the big media sports heads is talking about how amazing the team is and how much fun they are to watch. I'm fascinated and baffled that this was the game that convinced the media that we're good.

I don't know what you saw but that was on the money.  Might have been a little flat TY didn't burn Norman.  Had Norman not tipped that ball TY catches it in stride.

You and everybody who pied you need to go back and watch that play. Had him beat by 2 or 3 yards, the ball was under thrown and TY had to slow down.

Look, I'm not one to argue especially at 7-0 (ReDonk btw) but he was beat. It's not like I even like to admit that

Think that is more baiting than beat.   Just like he baited whatshisname from N.O. on the game winning interception. He baited him into believing he was beat.   He had a great angle between him and the receiver.   Luck had to throw it with the trajectory he did or TY is out of bounds before the ball gets there.

This. J-No wasn't burned, he was baiting that throw. He knew he had the speed to keep up, so he let him get a step so he could potentially undercut it, like he did. He was half a foot from a pick.

So true.  Usually I hate it when the TV crew shows the sidelines instead of the field action, but it was amazing to see Josh's face on the sideline.  So much passion & emotion.  Wow.  He was practically eating his towel in his anxiety.  We've got to keep this guy on our team somehow.

    • I don't think Rodgers but probably not for the political reasons I bet a lot of posters are motivated by. I just think he is not the QB for the Panthers, at all.
    • Sun Devils just scored another TD on BYU, 14-0
    • It wasn't great but  the 2022 NYG won 9 of 16 games plus a playoff game. He had a 92.5 passer rating. 15 pass TDs 3200 yards, 7 rushing TD, 700 yards 6 fumbles 3 lost.  His first season he had 18 fumbles lost 11. Wow.  Anyhow he had problems in 2023 with injuries and didn't win poo before tearing his ACL. This year, no Barkley, not good, but you know.... these ACLs take a while and it was right and he throws right so pushes off of it.  I agree it doesn't hurt to let that guy compete cheap. You don't hand him the job like with Bryce or NYG with him.  When I look at what we have been saddled with, he doesn't look worse and has the physical advantage. So I don't get the umbrage given our situation. This "No we won't settle for anything less that the best" attitude and then taking Bryce Young was pathetic and I think that attitude brought us to where we are. That's where that poo gets you. Away from Mayfield, away from Darnold, even away from PJ - just to replace them with an inferior PJ.  At the same time I am not really advocating for the guy just looking at it objectively. It could be another guy with the same story. And yes the odds of him getting it are low but the numbers and performance from 2022 are for sure better than we see with Bryce even after a season of major propping him up with better players around him. Take a look don't take a look he fails or he doesn't fail...   to instead sit here and be happier with what we have is bullshit.
