The debate between Newton and Luck ends

Nobody's putting a highlight reel from this game in their Hall of Fame induction package.

I think you'd have to say Luck actually played pretty well late in the game.

Just not quite well enough.

Newton was good enough.

And that small margin between 'good enough' and 'not quite good enough' is the deciding factor in an awful lot of NFL games.

Numbers wise. Cam won tonight.

Eye test, Cam won tonight. Even when Luck had those two good late drives, Cam looked even better on the drive in OT that ended short of scoring.. Just like Seattle, throwing absolute darts. And all through the game, he threw some really nice balls. Some got away. Some sloppy mechanics on some throws, others where the ball just seemed to slip away from him. Overall, Cam looked like the monster we know he is. Take away the drops, he's above 60% completions and has an extra TD that would have been a walkoff and the prettiest throw of his career.

There is no way, when Luck and Cam are playing at their best, that I'd EVER take Luck over Cam. Not a chance.

It didn't end. Luck will continue to get the benefit of the doubt for the next 5 years, or until he completely falls off of a cliff. Luck was seen as the future the second he was drafted, and nothing is going to change the minds of people that are already made up. The important thing is that we have our QB, and he is going to win a SuperBowl. That's all I give a damn about

His two TDs were fuging garbage time TDs like most of his TD tosses have been. Before 10 minutes left in the game and down by 17 he played like a retard trying to fug a hole in a fencepost. But the story will be his heroic comeback and not that it took a poo call on a 4th down non catch to even get his sorry ass to OT.

I doubt this game ends that discussion, honestly. There'll still be plenty of talk on both ends.

On the flipside, I do think the debate Ryan Grigson and Dave Gettleman is probably over now.

And if your response to that is "there wasn't one", I'd suggest you search the Huddle archives for posts and threads that say "Why can't we build our team like the Colts do?!"
