You failed to notice when they backed Norman 10+ yards off TY Hilton?

He was up at the line in TY's face until the final 8 minutes of the game. That is when TY made his first catch of the game and Norman shook his head in disgust as he knew they were giving plays to the Colts. Josh Norman wanted to shut out TY the entire game.

When you see the CBs and Safety's playing 10+ yards off the LoS, this is Quarters zone coverage, which gives the first 5 to 8 yards to the offense. Rivera does this as a way of the defense running the clock down by forcing the offense to take long drives.

Also, Kuechly was lined up deep with the safetys on some of the play calls late in the 4th quarter.

Olsen even said the Panthers were trying to run the clock out around the 8 minute mark.
