Came here to reinforce this. I'm from Syracuse, NY and you aren't even given the option of ranch. I didn't know people put ranch on wings until I moved to NC. Then I went to a Japanese steakhouse in NC and saw how much of that white sauce people used and understood how they could mess up chicken wings.

Also, the blue cheese is not supposed to lessen the heat (although it does do that a little) but to add the right flavor. You're not supposed to use much of it.

ok someone meet me at Wild Wing Cafe before the game. We will settle this poo.  also I equate putting ranch etc on wings as putting ketchup on hotdogs. you just dont fuging do it unless your a kid.

I grew up in Buffalo & was in junior high school when they were 1st served. Before that they were torn off your baked chicken & thrown in the homemade chicken noodle soup for added flavor. @Moorgan is right. No one offered any "sauce" options. Chunky blue cheese, period. For the celery sticks, not the wings. 

Ranch is ...... bleh. Shouldn't be put on anything ever.

Wings aren't just about the heat. I've done their silly little hot challenge and crushed it. The problem is wings that are ultra hot don't taste good. I usually go for the hot sauce that is 1 or 2 rungs down because they have that good Buffalo taste and not that industrial cleaner taste that the ultra hot wings have.

That being said, I make my own sauce at home (my wings crush restaurants but I do them EXACTLY how I like them). My sauce has jalapeno, habanero and ghost peppers with a cayenne base sauce. Best I've ever had and legit hot yet remaining tasty.
