why, exactly, would they make up the rib injury when he is already dealing with a shoulder injury? you do know teams get punished for withholding injuries, right?

Would explain the sudden drop off in mechanics and form, plus the distraction of the pain probably plays into the poor decisions.

Jay Glazer on FOX said it happened on the same play as the shoulder injury. So the team must have known about it & didn't report it. Yes, the Colts should be fined for each week they withheld the injury from their reports.

I think they only have to listen the injury which they feel is the greatest deterrent to him playing which would be the shoulder. And they'd happily eat that fine rather than let opposing defenses know that the starting QB has a rib injury that they can take shots at.

There are differing opinions on whether to injuries qualify as 'excuses' or not.

My personal opinion: If he can't play through it, shut him down.

Frankly, that franchise has made so many lousy decisions to date that if they wind up ruining him, I won't be that surprised.

When Cam broke his ribs then broke his back it was immediately known. Very strange timing.
