Carolina Panthers President Danny Morrison commends fans

This morning on WBT 1110 AM there was a clip from an interview with Panthers President Danny Morrison from after the Eagles game.

He did speak a little about how great the team was doing but he went out of his way to compliment the fans and the city of Charlotte for being so supportive and respectful. Even extended the interview to go back again to thank the fans.

He also said that he's talked to Ron Rivera and numerous players and said that they all can't get over how loud the stadium has been, especially Sunday night. Said it's the loudest he's ever heard BOA!

Fan base is growing man. The bandwagon is filling up and I for one don't care if they are joining up now. I know the Charlotte sports crowd is known to be somewhat fair weather. But right now we need all the fans we can get in that stadium. Even if it's because the team is winning at the current moment. In the long run it will help create atmosphere and who knows maybe some of these new fans will stick with the team and commit for the long run. It's a great time to be a fan.

I hate bandwagon fans but I secretly guilty pleasure feel this way too.

Danny Morrison is a good guy. When my wife and I flew to Arizona for Cam's first ever game, he literally walked around the entire front row of the stadium shaking hands with every single Panthers fan, thanked us for coming out and supporting the team.

He's legit.

I honestly thought it was louder for the AZ playoff game. But I think what was most impressive was when the Philly fans got cocky and started getting loud, our fans got louder and didn't let them take over the stadium.

It showed a paradigm shift for our fanbase. That's OUR stadium now. It's OUR team. You arent going to come to Carolina and take us over anymore. I guess I should wait till the steelers come back to Charlotte to see if this is for real, but that won't be for another 7 years so hopefully by then, the culture will be cemented and fossilized (linguistics term, Google that poo).

Mr. Morrison seems like a genuine dude. I saw him strolling around the club level during the Saints game a couple weeks ago. That being said...I'm going to have to disagree with him. The Eagles game was loud but MNF against the Patriots and the rain game against the Saints a couple seasons ago ( maybe it was last year ) were louder. I fully expect MNF against the Colts to set the record though.
