Superbowl Run?

I swear I can close my eyes , when I think of that moment sometimes, and the entire history of our team flashes through my mind. The sports writers saying the only franchise Charlotte would get was a McDonald's, The Richardsons/Mike McCormack's presentation to the expansion committee in NYC, the team being awarded in Oct '93, Clemson '95.All culminating in our Superbowl run with Vinatieri kicking that FG.

I remember the "McDonalds" comment. So funny now. When I think about the 2003 SB , Casey's kick off out of bounds is what I see most, I think many of us knew at that moment the game was over. Still was hell of a game and Im still proud of that team

It would be awesome to make it to SB and beat the Pats and exorcise that demon for the fanbase.

As much as I hate New England,  and pull for them to lose every week, it'd so much sweeter to beat them in the SB if they were undefeated,

Kasay's kickoff was not what cost us that game. The defense was gassed at that point; Brady could have started at the 1 yard line and gotten them into FG range with the time he had. That game was always going to come down to who had the ball last with enough time to do anything with it. It was the Pats, unfortunately.

I agree with you, the defense was gassed.

If you notice, I didn't say that Kasey lost as the game, I said that after the kick off out of bounds many fans knew the game was lost.

Knowing that N.E. has to gain a little over just 30yds, on our worn out D, with one of the most clutch kickers in the game waiting in the wings, is why I felt then it was over.

Kasey was andbis one of my favorite all time Panthers player.

Fox going for 2 was as big of a mistake as Kasey kicking it out of bounds.
